Cancelled 1 hour prior to class due to severe weather concernsOn 28 April 2014 I cancelled a hot yoga class one hour prior to the start of the class. This class was cancelled because of the severe weather and warnings around the area. I left work early in order to make the drive for this class. During this drive home there was hail and severe warnings broadcasted over the radio. As soon as I got home my fiancé and I talked about the risks vs. rewards of attending this class. We decided it was not worth it to make the 30+ min drive to the studio. We called the studio about the cancellation and were informed that because it was not 3 hours prior the class was going to be charged regardless of the severe weather. I feel this was more than enough time for another person to fill those slots if they were to brave the elements. This was not the first negative experience with this studio. During yoga class at an earlier date a student bumped into the mirror in the beginning of class and shattered the mirror scattering shards of glass around the room. The instructor left the room, the student who bumped the mirror was receiving first aid from another student, while other students were forced to clean up the shards (all without shoes) because none of the staff was there to assist. Finally someone came in to assess the situation and determined that the class would not be charged. I was appalled by the lack of involvement with the staff, but on the other hand thoroughly impressed with the students for their actions.Desired SettlementI would like a refund for the class that the studio was more than capable of filling if the customer was willing to brave the elements, and a formal apology. For a business that has such glowing reviews online I find it hard to believe that this was a situation that warranted a disregard for safety in order to make the scheduled class
