To Whom It May Concern, All work invoiced to this client was authorized prior to the work being performedWe were asked to make the car ready for sale, which is exactly what we did communicating costs throughout the process Documentation verifying this can be provided upon requestNothing unethical has taken place We originally built this vehicle for this client’s father, and the car was obtained through inheritanceThis client had a figure in mind for this carWe informed him that his figure was low, and the car’s value is much higher After an unfortunate mechanical failure of a stuck throttle, a collision took placeThis mechanical failure was not caused by usHot Rods & Custom Stuff went above and beyond to rectify this situation and make sure this client received a fair settlement through our insuranceThis client made the decision to collect payment rather than repair the carThe final check written to this client was in excess of his original target price for the car, nearly twice the amount, and he is still in possession of the car We never invoiced or collected any insurance deductibleWe were not made aware this was deducted from the insurance check amountWhen made aware, we immediately mailed a check for reimbursement Hot Rods and Custom considers this matter closed, and believes anyone who reads this with an open mind would understand that we have handled this situation to the best of our abilityIt sometimes appears no good deed goes unpunished
