Hot Shot Asphalt Paving aka Commercial Contractors

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - it's A SCAME. the person that came over and side I have 70 yards from another job that I need to get rid of, $110. for it, we said ok put overhear in this hole, he said ok. then he back in with a dump truck and dump in the driveway I then said I want it in this hole first then whats lift from the 70 yards put in the driveway they got done and they said we want $1200.00 I said NO you said you only had 70 yards for $110.00 that is all I'm paying then they wanted more to seal it - DO NOT USE THEM.

The owner *** of Hot Shot Asphalt Paving came and offered to do paving on my dirt road entrance. He said he would charge $10,000. 5,000 to start and the other 5,000 when he finished. The second day of work he asked for another 2,000. So we paid him the 2k in cash and 3k was the balance now. So, he was putting recycled asphalt shingles! It was like left over dirt! When he originally said that it would be hot Asphalt paving. It was nothing like that! When he came back the next day to roll it into the ground it had rained. I had told him not to come until it was dry to be able to work with. He came into my property when I wasn’t home and he made the paving even worse and when I confronted him about the mess he had made and the recycled Asphalt he was using he did not return to fix the work! So, he took 5k (check that was paid to him) plus 2k cash.... he took my money and left horrible work that will cost me more money to get someone to come fix!

The company did not accomplishing what was asked of them or what we paid for. I am not satisfied with the job they did for me. I have called to have them come and fix it and they state they cannot.

I am here to echo the comments of the previous review. My elderly parents were also coerced into having their driveway paved by this company's owner. He showed-up randomly to my parents' home (unannounced / uninvited) with a load of "leftover driveway material." He talked about how quick and easy and affordable the job would be, going so far as assuring my parents that they "would be taken care of" when it came to pricing (to have been discussed after the job had been completed, per the owner).
Needless to say, they were certainly "taken care of"...only not in the way that one might hope. About halfway through the job, the owner has a subsequent visit with my parents and asks for an insane amount of money in order to complete the job. Being as they live on a fixed income, they did not have the funds to pay what was asked (many, many thousands of dollars). With that, the owner of this company then talks my parents into signing over my father's truck. The truck, the owner said, would only cover the portion of the driveway that had been completed to that point (appx half the driveway's length). I say completed, but the fact is that not one portion of the driveway could be considered to be "complete." Basically, they just laid-down a very thin layer of asphalt rock without applying any sort of sealant / oil / binding agent. Add to that, as they were preparing the driveway, they filled-in the existing low spots with a random assortment of sticks, leaves, dirt and other debris from the area; and while I'm no driveway expert, my parents should probably expect at least a fair amount of settling in the near future (read: low spots, holes, depressions).
To their credit, the little asphalt that was laid is fairly smooth (for now - recall: no sealant). It's just a shame that my father won't be able to experience it because this guy now owns his truck!
Bottom line, this has been a terrible experience for my family. This company prays on the elderly and when questioned, they deny any wrongdoing. Buyer beware!
