Terrible shop, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They over charge for everything, they were telling me that Led headlights are the brightest in the market but they sold me the worst Led kit (U3 plus led light 4000 lumen kit) this kit is $94.95 online with free shipping. But William charged me $200 for the kit and $200 for labor. I was very disappointed with the kit (very dim), I called and talked to the owner to see if they can swap it for a bright HID kit instead, since the Led kit they sold me wasn't bright at all. He said no, and was arguing with me that Led's are way better, not understanding that their kit was the worst Led kit. I gave up and went to S[redacted], they did an excellent job and a lot cheaper. Very happy with S[redacted].

Review: I was charged a “shop tax” by Hot Tint, I looked further into this and discovered no such tax exists. They said they had to charge a 9% tax on my purchase for use of expendable items such as waste, oils, solvents, ect...) They used this "tax" percentage to tax me for my purchase instead of the legal amount of 6% Maryland law allows. I called the Comptroller of Maryland to verify if such a tax existed but was informed it didn't and that my purchase qualified for a standard state tax rate.

My brother called to speak to the business and spoke to both the manager and the owner who insisted that this was a standard practice by all shops. When shops do charge a fee for hazardous waste or recycling it is a minimal fee and is not used to up-charge customers in place of a standard state tax.Desired Settlement: That Hot Tint amend their unfair and dishonest business practices and refund me for my over-payment in “shop taxes".

Review: I purchased two [redacted] deals to have a remote starter installed into my vehicles, a 2004 [redacted] and a 2005 [redacted] from Hot Tint Speed & Sound. I also decided to have my windows tinted since my automobiles were going to be there for other aftermarket items to be installed. The starters were installed in March and April of 2013. I noticed in the spring/summer of 2013 that the air conditioner on my 2005 [redacted] was not was not emitting air from the drivers vent, I took my vehicle to Jim Coleman's [redacted] where it was discovered that the two AC vents had been removed. I notified [redacted] at Hot Tint Speed & Sound and informed him of the issue and he denied that the vents were removed, after I explained to him that there had been no other work performed on my vehicle since the installation and that I would be willing to split the cost of the of the repair since a few months had elapsed and we both agreed that neither party had proof that Hot Tint Speed & Sound was responsible for the missing vents and that they couldn't say if someone else hadn't removed these vents.

After my phone conversation with [redacted], weeks later I came into the shop and showed the owner, [redacted], the exact parts from the [redacted] dealership that included the part numbers and a diagram; [redacted] called [redacted] while I was there in the shop and stated that the part would be in in about a week and to for me to call back, when I asked why couldn't he call me when the part arrived he stated that his shop gets very busy and they would forget. I left the shop and took [redacted] at his word. For the next few weeks I inquired about the part and everyone with whom I spoke at Hot Tint Speed & Sound gave me a different excuse; [redacted] delivered the wrong part or it hadn't come in yet.

I waited until the holidays had ended and gave [redacted] and [redacted] one last time to do the right thing and fix what they had destroyed. They finally said that the correct part was in stock and I originally had a date to install my vents in January 2014, I had a conflict with work and was unable to keep the appointment which was rescheduled and I was unable to keep the rescheduled appointment but I decided to come by and pick up the part. At that time, unbeknownst to anyone at Hot Tint Speed & Sound, I decided that I would take the part and pay the dealer, out of my own pocket, to install the parts correctly. When I arrived [redacted] gave me one vent and I inquired as to where the other vent was and he stated that the was only one vent ordered, when I reminded him of the [redacted] parts diagram that I show him with the two parts that were needed he called [redacted] and [redacted] stated that I only needed one part for the passenger side of the vehicle and I stated that it is the driver's side that needs the parts not the passenger side! He told me he knew nothing about a diagram and that was the only part that they ordered. I took the part and left the shop, I live over 50 miles, one way, from Hot Tint Speed & Sound and this ordeal had finally taken its toll on me and I decided to order the parts and have [redacted] install them. I purchased the two vents and had them installed and I went back to Hot Tint Speed & Sound spoke to [redacted] and gave him the receipt for the parts and the passenger part that they had order incorrectly and asked for a refund of the parts in which I had paid. He groused and stated that he would not pay retail for the part and I stated that I gave him and his company, Hot Tint Speed & Sound many opportunities to right their wrong and they failed miserably so he reluctantly issued me a check in the amount of $112.71, which he promptly place a stop payment on with his bank.

Hot Tint Speed & Sound now has the original incorrect part which they ordered and my actual receipt for the correct parts that I purchased; in essence defrauding me of $112.71.Desired Settlement: Reimburse me for the products that I had to pay retail price for in the amount of $112.71 and issue me a written apology for their treatment of me as a customer.

Review: Unfortunately my dispute involves a number of issues: Failure of action on part of very poor customer service resulting in non-receipt of product despite payment.

On January 24th 2013 I made a purchase from [redacted] for a “Remote Car Starter with Installation” to be performed by “Hot Tint Speed & Sound” in [redacted], MD.

On February 16th, I called Hot Tint Speed & Sound spoke with [redacted] (the manager) in an attempt to make an appointment. Unfortunately their first appointment wasn’t until 2 and half months away, on April 9th. Somewhat disappointed, I purchased this deal with the expectation of using my purchase at least within the first few weeks, but I honored the rules and proceeded with making an appointment.

After some consideration due to the long wait time, I had decided to cancel my original appointment and opt for a refund. On February 22nd I called “Hot Tint Speed & Sound” back; spoke to [redacted] again to see about canceling my original appointment. When asked for a reason for my cancellation, it was because the company had offered a deal that couldn’t be fully redeemed until months later, and I asked him the same. At this point [redacted] became extremely rude, raising his voice at him, disregarding my claims, speaking over me, and being all-around unprofessional.

Having to undergo such an ordeal, I had fully cancelled my appointment with Hot Tint Speed & Sound as of that day. Right away, I contacted [redacted] about the incident and – although they tried to assure me that their vendor was trustworthy – I informed them that I did not feel comfortable with this vendor working on my car given the situation and what were my options on getting a refund.

On February 27th [redacted] sent an email response stating, “They declined my refund but I was able to use it as a gift to a friend or I could still use my voucher for the paid amount beyond the promotional value expiration date.” I decided to use my voucher for the paid value to purchase something else.

On April 8th I receive another email from [redacted] stating that I redeemed my voucher with the original vendor. Not only did I not take my car to Hot Tint Speed & Sound but I cancelled my appointment on February 22nd as previously stated. Once again I called [redacted], spoke to a **. Monique. She explained that I must contact Hot Tint Speed & Sound to let them know I canceled with them. From there I contacted Hot Tint Speed & Sound, again speaking to [redacted] who once again was EXTREMELY rude, continually talking me, and telling me that he was not going to refund me and that I didn’t cancel with them.

After this, I called [redacted] and spoke with a **. [redacted] who told me that’s the policy for Hot Tint Speed & Sound to redeem your voucher 24 hours in advance in order to receive a refund – which is what I did originally on February 22nd. She went on to explain that I could only use the dollar amount of the voucher with that company, which was not originally stated in their email back on February 27th. It was at this time I again explain that I did not want to use my voucher with a company I don’t feel comfortable doing business with; Again living [redacted] did nothing and explained that I needed talk to “Hot Tint Speed & Sound” and for them to give [redacted] the ok to refund me my money as it was past the voucher’s expiration date – it would take the company’s approval.

From April 8th until now I’ve been in contact with both [redacted] as well as Hot Tint Speed & Sound several times. On a number of occasions during this time, I’ve called Hot Tint Sound & Speed and spoke with various associates, one of whom is named [redacted], to speak with [redacted] (the owner) in an attempt to resolve this conflict in person, but unfortunately every time I’m told [redacted]’s going to be at the shop, he’s never physically there.

At this point I’ve exhausted all of my options – there has been no resolution, numerous inconsistencies, and I am out both money for the original purchase and a car starter itself. I no longer want to do business with [redacted] or Hot Tint Speed & Sound all I want is a refund of my purchase.

I have records of emails and phone calls made to [redacted], as well as, records of all the phone calls I’ve made to Hot Tint Sound & Speed trying to resolve this issue as needed.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is to receive a FULL refund of the amount of my initial purchase - I do not want an exchange or gift of service nor a gifted transfer of service.
