Review: I purchased the pool and was given the name of a an installer to do the install. Within a year the pool began to leak due to a pocket forming under the edge of the pool stretching the liner to the point that the liner lost it's coloration. I did what I could do to build up the edge and better support the area in question. I contacted [redacted] and spoke to [redacted] asking what could be done. He said I did what should have been done and hopefully that would correct the problem. The area continued to seep water over time and additional pockets formed under the liner causing additional stretch spots. The water level in the pool is dropping much quicker now, 8 inched in two months. I contacted [redacted] again and he said well it is only a small leak and it may be able to be repaired if not the liner would need replacing. Both would be my cost. The cost is about $650 dollars for the replacement liner, $400 for the labor to install and approximately $1000 to refill the pool. I contacted the pool repair specialist that was recommended to me and he thought that the initial install was not done as well as it could have been and observed additional stretch marks in the liner that may be leaking also. The leaks may or may not be able to be located. Again the repair costs for the poor install are my responsibility even though a poor installation appears to be the cause.Desired Settlement: A pool that does not leak as was the intent when purchased. A small leak is not acceptable for a pool this new, I should not have to bear the cost for the dealer recommended installer.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that they are the retailer and they did not install the pool but they do refer installers to their customers. [redacted] stated that there are two things that could have caused the indention in the pool; 1) the ground could have settled or 2) there could be a rotting root under the pool. [redacted] said that they had another gentleman named [redacted] to go look at the pool and [redacted] stated the same reasoning. [redacted] also said that the cover pump was on top of the pool and that can suck the water right out of the pool causing the water level to drop. [redacted] stated that if the consumer wanted to get a new liner in the pool that he would charge the consumer $650, the pool liners normally run about $900. They both do not believe there is a leak and [redacted] stated that if there is a leak, it is a very small leak.
