Review: Revdex.com Complaint Filed Against:

Hot Yoga [redacted], #[redacted] Washington, DC [redacted]

Ph: ###-###-####

(same owner as: Yoga [redacted] MD [redacted], ph: ###-###-####)

To Whom it May Concern:

Over the course of several months, I have tried to resolve a problem regarding the use of Hot Yoga coupons. In the meantime, I have lost use of other coupons (partially due to the lack of response from the owner and partially due to the coupons being incorrectly entered in the system) and the ability to recover the paid value of the coupons that either expires in 5 years or never expires depending on the issuer ([redacted] -2@$25 each for $90 value, Recoup-1@$25ea for $90 value and [redacted]-1@$39 for $121 value), a total of $114 out of pocket for what was advertised to be $391 value in service.

Background: I had a series of Hot Yoga coupons that I purchased over the course of time. A pregnancy and 4-5 surgeries over the course of 2011-2012 meant I could not participate in exercise. I notified the owner (now former) [redacted] and asked how she would like to handle the issue. [redacted] graciously told me to ignore the expirations of the coupons and return when I was healthy. I started my return in late June 2013 by sending an email and was notified there was a new owner, but they would honor my remaining coupons regardless of expiration.

I was told to bring in all of my coupons (2 [redacted], 1 Recoup, 1 [redacted]). They were all entered in the Hot Yoga system at once in early July, which I later learned is not what staff should have done because it triggered the expirations all at once (and took away my ability to use their cash value). They were also not entered in order of when they were to expire (some had not expired yet). I also later learned that I was only being given 60 days of use of my [redacted], whereas it clearly states, in writing, 90 days. When I pointed this issue out to the manager (I believe her name is [redacted]) after an early September class, I was met with a hostile position and tone stating Hot Yoga has never had a [redacted] that lasted 90 days. I told her I had brought in copies that were supposed to be on file but would go home and check my own copy of the [redacted] for the 90 day statement and get back to her. I did go home and, indeed, I had (and have) copies of my Hot Yoga [redacted] that state they are to last 90 days. I emailed Hot Yoga (to the email addresses available online---which had no name attached them) to point this out and, as the email exchanges below indicate, the manager ([redacted]?) wrote to the owner, [redacted], defending herself that [redacted] had never been 90 days in the history of the company. The fact that I had these coupons and terms, in print, did not seem to matter and I have, since then, been ignored despite multiple attempts to speak and email with the owner. In the meantime, my other coupons have expired or have been rendered useless in terms of their cash value because they entered in the system all at once when they should not have been.

All options and attempts at resolution have been taken from me due to staff incompetence, a manager’s refusal to acknowledge a written term of use and the owner’s refusal to address the problem and return emails and calls after her manager failed to act. I feel that I did due diligence in trying to resolve the issue through direct communication over several months, but Hot Yoga’s management and ownership seemed to think that by ignoring the situation, it would quietly go away at the consumer’s expense. That is unethical business practice, so I have been forced to take the next step by filing this Revdex.com complaint.

Thank you in advance for taking steps towards addressing this complaint.

Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Desired outcome: A refund of $114 for the services not received. I do not wish to receive services in lieu of a refund due to not wanting to return to the studio with the unpleasant disposition of the manager.
