Deposit hold *** room 557 on March XX XXXX
I stay in this hotel back on March 21. 2020 and stay one night and I paid a $200 deposit on a room 557 for one night and next day I check out and within days I still didn't get my deposit back it's been 7 days and it's still on hold and I'm upset and I'm losing my patience... and my bank can't release the hold on it because the merchant locked it on there end and I need my deposit since I lost my job due to the virus and I'm on lockdown

Desired Outcome

I would like for my deposit to release back ASAP

5/6/19 leaving Dallas @ love field airport after visiting with one cousin flying out southwest flying to go see my other cousin and spend the week with her in Colorado,I missed my flight.

I get on an app called hotels tonight looking for somewhere respectable and trustworthy for a young women traveling by herself to sleep for 4 or 5 hours before heading back to the airport.
I came across Hotel Crescent Court it was beautiful to say the least and close to the airport.
@ 12:00pm I got an Uber to hotel crescent court from love field.

Arrived at the hotel @ 12:00pm
Took about 20 minutes to get checked in ( I didn't have a credit card to keep on file) so I would have to walk into the restaurant to get food to take up to my room. when I got the keys to my room I walked straight to the elevators hit floor 2 walked to my room 237 unlocked the door went in and locked the door behind me. Walked over to one of the beds in the room. Laid my purse and a plastic bag on the bed. Quickly grabbed my purse took out my chapstick and then took my iPad out of the plastic bag and was going to watch a movie on my iPad.

Then there was a knock at the door. I opened the door and jumped out of my skin. As I opened the door I see a man starring at me in street clothes holding an ice pick. I slammed them door closed. I heard his voice saying I'm here to open your mini fridge. So I let him in the room, he used the ice pick to open the fridge. Then he walked into the room where the beds were and I pulled out my cell phone and called one of my friends that knew where I was, at this point I'm getting nervous about his actions. He looked around and then he walked to exit my room.

I explain what had just happened to my friend over the phone. She even was very concerned about my wellbeing. Seeing how I was traveling by myself. I assured her I was in a beautiful hotel and that I would be walking downstairs to place a food order and coming straight back to my room and we would FaceTime like we always do.

I decide to head to the restaurant to order food to bring right back to the room. I waited close to 10 minutes ands couldn't get a signal person to say hi to me let alone take my order. So I walked over to someone and asked if I could place an order they informed me they were closed. Walking to the women who instructed me to to place my order in person asking her if I could order room service and pay in cash. Now heading back to my room. I'm thinking to myself why did the front desk instructed me to place my order in person? I call my friend and ran this past her and she agreed it was odd and to get back to my room. I am still on the phone with her as I place my order. Then I noticed my cellphone battery was low so I wanted to call her on FaceTime from my iPad. I looked in my purse and the plastic bag and there was no iPad. Then my friend reminded me I had already taken it out and set it up on the bed. So could see it when her and I were FaceTiming when the man with the ice pick was in my room. How is this possible I just had it and I only left my room for maybe 15 minutes. I call the front desk to inform them. And that they would be right up. Waiting for them felt like forever. So with my friend on the phone I headed to the front desk. As I explain what happened with the man with the ice pick they had no idea what man I was speaking about. The women who had checked me in saw me holding my iPad and even informed the gentleman at the front desk at she saw me head to the elevator with it in my hand. All the while my friend is still on my cellphone listening to all this and I'm keeping her updated with what they are saying. The women at the front desk who checked me in came from behind me somewhere and looked very upset and said I told you that you would not have access to the mini fridge. I informed her that I didn't contact anyone and this guy showed up with an ice pick saying the front desk informed him to open the mini fridge. So I let him do his job. Another person asked me if this guy had a suit and a bow tie on I said no he had street close on. I could see he was taken back by this and now so was i....

Finally security shows up and I briefed him on what has taken place and the front desk has confirmed I had my iPad when handed to my room after I checked in. He (security) asks if I'm ok with him interrogating the lock on my room door. I asked what does that entail? After I was informed about the interrogation of the lock. I said wouldn't it make more sense to look at your cameras and find out who this man was at my door with the ice pick first? Seeing how the damage is already done. I also stated that at this point I feel pretty vulnerable and don't trust what's going on in front of me. I would like to see the security camera video myself. I was told the security room is too small and I would not be able too. Then cam you bring it out her on a phone laptop or even still pictures. It's approaching 1am and I have to be back at DFW by 4am I'm tired and starring and my food is now cold upstairs. Not to mention how am I supposed to lay my head down knowing my stuff was removed out of the room I am suppose to go to sleep in. Security came back with one picture of myself on a cellphone and he determined from the blurriest picture the I had nothing in my hand when walking in the hotel. Extremely bothered by the way this whole experience I stated that if you were to walk with me to my room you will see that I have a purse and a plastic bag containing a few things I have purchased. Now feeling completely taking advantage of not to mention vulnerable I told him I strongly disagreed with you and your front desk can confirm I had my iPad. Knowing I'm not getting anywhere and sick to my stomach with the fact that I'm being called a lair, I made my way back to the room around 1ish I looked every where and it just is no where to be found. I hang up with my friend. Feeling really uneasy about closing my eyes in

Desired Outcome

Hotel Crescent Court Response • May 29, 2019

We are extremely sorry to learn that Ms. lost her IPad while at the Hotel. Our Security Department completed a thorough investigation, they spoke with everyone who Ms. interacted with at the Hotel from time of check-in to check-out in an attempt to try to locate the lost IPad. Security and Housekeeping also walked all the areas that Ms. visited while at the Hotel including a thorough inspection of the room Ms. occupied.

We wish we had better news, We are very sorry that Ms. lost her IPad, unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for it.

Sincerely,
Andrew

My husband and I were hanging by the pool, and we ordered room service for two drinks to be delivered. After we received our drinks, security came to the pool, watched us from afar for a few minutes, and then came over and demanded to know our room number. They never identified themselves as security, so my husband showed them our hotel key, but that wasn't good enough. The security guard stood there, radio-ed it in, and then suggested they made a 'mistake', in a very annoyed tone. First of all, they could have discretely given a description of what we were wearing over their radio without even approaching us if they thought we were 'stealing'. And second of all, the security guard should have identified himself as hotel security before demanding our hotel room number.

I called the manager to complain about this, she apologized, and she offered to give us a breakfast credit for the next morning. Although she seemed to be very apologetic, the level of disrespect we faced was inappropriate and unacceptable. Upon checkout, the staff did not once ask us how our stay was, and we returned the breakfast vouchers without using them. For being such a 'highend? hotel, they really have some work to do.

Also, when my husband first checked in, the front desk attendant stated that she was doing us a favor by checking us in early, even though I called 2 weeks prior to have them place a note on our reservation letting them know we'd be there early. Also, she could not find our reservation and told us that it's because we booked through a third party (like it was our fault). Again, their customer service is lacking.
Product_Or_Service: Hotel room

Desired Outcome

Refund After what my husband and I went through and the level of disrespect and embarrassment we endured, we should be refunded for the cost of the hotel room. The customer service of the security guard as well as hotel management + front desk staff is very lacking. However, the customer service by the room service and their casual dining restaurant was great, so no need for that to be refunded.
