Review: This transaction occurred during Hurricane Sandy.We were quoted $119.71 (AAA/AARP discount) plus 18% tax = $141.25/day over the phone when reservations were made. I had two rooms for 4 days which should total $1130.The following month I received a bill which totaled $1244.70, an overage of $114.70.Their total of $1244.70 means they are charging me $155.58, which was the new rate that they were quoting new comers coming in.I remember signing the agreement which I did not read because they said I would get a copy later. We originally had rooms [redacted] and [redacted] for my son. They changed his room to [redacted] because of a ceiling/wall leak, but said there would be no additional charge.I heard there were gas gouging going on during the hurricane, but I hope it hasn't spread to a neighborhood hotel too, taking advantage of seniors.Thank you for your help.Desired Settlement: Refund of $114.70.

The claim which was made by customer, [redacted] is not in fact true.
We have already notified the guest in regards to this. The guest was not in fact quoted $119.71 (AAA/AARP discount) as a nightly rate. We are proud to say that we have never engaged in price gouging in any way or form at Hotel Q.
We are unable to process any refunds requested by the customer at this point. We request the customer to provide us a written confirmation of rates given to them, prior, by Hotel Q in order to provide the desired refund.

The guest stated the transaction was over the phone. The fact is, the guest signed the registration card at check in and agreed on the rates which were given to them. We always give the guest the opportunity to look at the total bill. Please be advised that we have stated all the details and facts.
Please close this case asap. The guest already tried to dispute the charges with the credit card company. Unfortunately, we will not be able to entertain false claims. Rates for each customer are different and the guest has nothing to do with other customers rates. Guest should avoid making false claims; we do take it seriously and any statement made by the guest without proof may hold the guest liable.
