I will be reporting them to the Revdex.com, health department, and possibly taking this further if they continue to refuse a refund. I had stayed here during a weekend in March for a convention I was performing at. We got to the hotel at the time we were supposed to be checking in. They made us wait another 4 hours because the room wasn't ready yet. When we got to the room, we had a housekeeping staff stop by to change our pillow cases because those were not done. Not a big deal, shrugged it off. A friend stopped by to take a nap since her room (at a different hotel) wasn't ready yet either. She pulled out the fold-out bed, and found soiled clothing (men's underwear, to be specific), soiled sheets (it smelled like pee and sweat), broken human teeth, and chunks of a styrofoam cup that had bite marks (we're assuming someone was chewing them off and spitting them onto the bed). There was moldy, smelly plates and silverware underneath the fold-out couch as well. Not only that, but one of the two bathtubs and one of the two toilets did not work. We also had sewage water backing up into the other bathroom's sink (it woke me up several times as apparently it's very loud). The hallway of the hotel had moldy water marks all over the carpeting, there was trash in the hallway, and it reeked of booze and pot. We reported it immediately, and were told that it would be taken care of before the end of the day. We left for day one of the con. Came back around 10pm, and the room hadn't been touched. We reported it again. The woman at the desk was incredibly sassy and unprofessional, but said someone would be coming up to fix the toilet, and bring a fold-out bed (since apparently all their housekeeping staff leaves at 5pm, and no one else knows how to change sheets). No one ever looked at the toilet, but we did hear a knock on the door. When we opened it, the pull out bed was there but the staff immediately walked away. Rolled it in, and that was it. Nothing else. Not even dialogue was exchanged. I had asked the next morning if we could change rooms. They said no, due to the political rallies all weekend, they were booked. Every other hotel in Tucson was also booked. We didn't have a choice but to stay there, as we were performing that afternoon at the convention center. They said it would be done before we got back in the evening. We got back around 9:30pm. The room was still disgusting. Went back downstairs (by the way, their elevators were all out of order most of the weekend due to construction, but it was not posted on their website, we weren't told while we were checking in, or anything, and my friend who was staying with me in the hotel has arthritis, so walking those stairs (being on the third floor and all) was tough on her to say the least) to kindly remind them to clean it. The woman at the desk (the same sassy one from the evening before) all but ignored me. I let her know this was the second night in a row that nothing was taken care of, and she said "oh, I'm sorry to hear that", and walked back into the staff room behind the counter. No one else was at the front desk (or anywhere else, to be honest). Next morning, we were checking out and I left a VERY detailed description of the LONG list of issues as a hand-written note, as well as a verbal complaint to the staff who was checking us out. I was told I was not to be charged. I believe the words they used we "don't worry, we will be taking care of you." I said "okay good, because I'm not paying for this room." She smiled and assured me everything would be fine, and I would be receiving a phone call the following business day from their GM. That phone call never came. I called three business days after (Wednesday, now), and spoke with the same staff who took my complaint. She said their manager wasn't in at the moment, but I would be receiving a phone call from them before the end of the day. That phone call never came. Called them Thursday morning, and no one would let me speak with a manager, but assured me it was being taken care of and investigated. I said I wanted a phone call from the manager so I could speak with them directly, and that they better not be charging me. I was reassured again, and they hung up. I spoke with that repeat staff again on the phone a day or so later, and they tried to tell me they couldn't give me a refund, but a free stay. I asked them why. She said "didn't the convention pay for you?" I said no, I paid out of pocket for this room, and I was no to be charged. It was honestly as simple as checking the account, because they had MY CC with MY name on it on file. I was told it would be looked into and I would be contacted later. I then received a very short, passive "apology" letter in the mail for my problems during our stay. I figured that was that. Now I am over-withdrawn because they decided to charge me a month later, and no one seems to know about my supposed "not being charged". Stay here at your own risk.
