Review: I searched for houses for RENT in [redacted] MO. I found a listing represented by your company as for rent at $750/mo. I went to see the listing and there was a different number to call and it saw for SALE. I spoke with the broker and she confirmed that the house was never listed for RENT. Your company lied and that listing is not available for rent.Desired Settlement: To put this company out of business...I wasted my valuable time and others will too.

I want this company to stop this fraudulent type of promotion. Be regulated or prevent them from doing this. Isn't it illegal to do that?

I paid one company 3 years ago for listings and there weren't any! This is the same thing. They want a fee to be visit their listings and then when you pay the fee, the listings you try to visit aren't theirs. II was not able to get my fee refunded/ So I wasted my time and money!

If the complainant could provide us an address to the listing they think is fraudulent, we can block the person's account that listed the property. Without that information, there is nothing we can do about the complaint. Most likely the potentially fraudulent rental listing has already been flagged and removed from our website.

Review: I went on www.hotpads.com on 01/12/2014 and 01/13/2014 a requested that I was intrested in several different properties. I had one person send me back from the website telling me that they house was still available. After going though many different emails, calls with this person it ended up being a scam and I lost 600.00 because a house that they let someone post that was in forcloser and not the real owner. I then on 01/23/2014 I got another email about a house they have listed and its a scam because it is almost the same email from the first just didnt email address and names. this company I have emailed and explained the problem with people posting houses for rent and that are no legitimate owners and I have heard nothing. I feel since they are not checking with who are listing these houses or that they are not in forcloser they should be held liable for the money I lost from the scam and fraudDesired Settlement: I feel that since this company is not checking into who is listing these house or if they are real I think they should pay for the money I lost in the scam from there website.

DO NOT TRUST THIS WEBSITE!!! They post numbers taken from air. They list apartments for 1800s when they are actually 2600. When I called the actual apartment they told me that they cannot control what hotpads put on their website. So much for deceiving people just to get extra clicks on their site.
Ex.I searched for per friendly apts in MountainView,CA and one of their results was "perfect" - about $1875 per month(the listing was updated 3-4 hours ago). I called the actual apt complex and they told me it's $2675 and that they don't have any affiliation with hotpads.
What a shame.
