I'm waiting to hear from you or [redacted] regarding the response from Carrier. I don't think it would take but a few minutes to make a decision. I still have no paperwork on my units. I don't know where it would have been left when they were installed. Please let me know when I can receive some paperwork and decision from Carrier?

On June 28th, I spoke with [redacted] (& [redacted]) regarding their problem with the HVAC system. The unit was working at the time of our conversation, but had a problem with the programing of the thermostat. We scheduled our service manager to evaluate the system on July 5th....

After evaluating the system, our service manager returned on July 7th and replaced the thermostat with a new t-stat. He sealed behind the t-stat for better insulation. Five supply grills were replaced, at no extra charge, for better air flow. The fan speed was adjusted lower for better dehumidification. All issues with the HVAC have been addressed to Mr. [redacted]'s and Mr. [redacted]' satisfaction as of July 7th, 2016.

WE HAVE SPOKEN TO MR. [redacted] AND HAVE SCHEDULED A FIELD SUPERVISOR TO INSPECT THE HVAC DRAIN SET UP ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10TH. FURTHER DETAILS WILL FOLLOW ONCE OUR EVALUATION HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

ON MAY 20, 2016 OUR HOUK TECHNICIAN ARRIVED AND FOUND THE CUSTOMER'S FATHER-IN-LAW TRYING TO FIX THE THERMOSTAT. A HOMEOWNER VOIDS HIS WARRANTY SHOULD AN UNAUTHORIZED OR UNQUALIFIED PERSON WORKS ON THEIR HVAC SYSTEM. OUR TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSTIC THE PROBLEM AND DETERMINED THE 5 AMP FUSE WAS BLOWN AND...

REPLACED IT. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO FOUND THE T-STAT WAS NOT OPERABLE DUE TO A MISSING JUMPER WIRE. FATHER-IN-LAW OR HOMEOWNER APPARENTLY MISPLACED THE WIRE. HOMEOWNER DECLINED THE ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE THERMOSTAT. ALTHOUGH THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE OF $108.00, AS A GOODWILL GESTURE HOUK WILL WAIVE THE LABOR CHARGE TO INSTALL THE FUSE OF $24.00.  MR. [redacted] IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC/TRIP CHARGE OF $84.00.

I am rejecting this response because: I still haven't received a report from Richard. Also, I have yet to hear back regarding the warranty. In response regarding the warranty isn't acceptable when in fact  Houk knew this was a custom home. They knew the buyer of the home. The builder was not made aware of the need to inform client.Once these two last items have been resolved we can close the case.

We did receive your rejection regarding our response to your complaint with the Revdex.com.  We do apologize for the frustrations regarding the installation your hvac equipment.  Houk is working diligently to resolve all the items mentioned in your complaint.  At this time, we do believe the mechanical issues listed have been resolved.  We have submitted the appropriate information to the manufacture and asked they make an exception in regards to the equipment registration.  We are awaiting a response from the manufacturer.
 
Houk AC Inc. strives for ultimate customer satisfaction and would like to very much to resolve your complaints to the best of our ability.

We contacted Mr. [redacted] and explained that to him that the HVAC system installed in his home was a heat pump system. Any thermostat installed on his unit must be heat pump compatible. Heat pump t-stats must be set up and programmed correctly to work. We offered to sell and install Mr. [redacted] a...

Honeywell Z-Wave t-stat that is compatible and approved by the OEM for $375, but he declined. We have scheduled a service call to check the operations of his unit for Friday, February 23rd.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. [redacted],
 
We have received your complaint regarding your new home and would like to address each item accordingly. 
 
We do apologize for the lapse in communication with our new construction supervisor, [redacted], as it was the holidays...

and he had pre-scheduled his vacation time; In the excitement of the upcoming holidays … it was not clearly communicated to another co-worker to follow-up with you during his absence.
Again – we do apologize!
 
As for the items mechanical issues noted….
 
We would like to first address the registration process:
All manufactures literature, users’ manuals & warranty information is generally left at the home upon the final phases of construction (usually in the attic or a kitchen cabinet/drawer).  It is the builder’s responsibility to inform the buyer of such, and direct them accordingly.  As we, the contractor, have no knowledge as to when the home is sold.  Nor do we receive any buyer information; Therefore, registration is usually a shared responsibility between the builder & homebuyer.  However, we will contact our Carrier representative to inform them of the situation and ask if they would maybe consider registering your equipment. 
Please be advised, this decision is strictly at the discretion of the manufacturer.
 
As for the drain issues.  Drains were installed as per the builders’ contract, city code(s), and manufactures specifications.  Additionally, the city did pass the final inspection (as per 2015 International Mechanical Code; Page 27, Sec. 307.2.2).  We did perform a service call on 7/13/16 – to clear the drain lines.  No other issues were found and all are draining properly at this time.
 
The Honeywell thermostat(s) installed are for 2-Stage Heat/2-Stage Cool.  This particular is the best match to the equipment installed; as there are no functionalities or capabilities lost with this particular model.  Additionally, this is the thermostat requested to be installed as per the builders’ contract agreement.  All thermostats are working properly at this time.
 
On 1/13…our Service Manager, [redacted] was able to determine the static pressure readings were performed by another company and shown to be incorrect.  Filters were replaced and new TESP test were performed.  Readings were well with in manufactures range.
