House Doctors Window and Door Co, Inc. Reviews (14)

I have had the privilege of touring this school a few times, meeting the staff and some of the students The students appear to be very happy, attentive and satisfied while I can easily tell the staff truly cares for them The dynamic is quite impressive, when my kids are old enough this particular private school may have more students!

Very poor service. Had storm door replaced 4 months ago. Left 1" gap under door. Trying to get them back for four months now. No response!!!!

Review: House Doctors installed our windows and over the past winter a seal broke in one of the windows and needed to be replaced. I called in May and it took till July to get the service man out to measure so the window could be ordered. I have been checking with them and am constantly hearing how under staffed they are and how bad of a winter we had which caused a lot of window issues. After hearing that my glass would be in soon, I threatened to complain to the Revdex.com and got a call right back saying they would be out today. I got a phone call this morning and they say the glass is broken at the factory. So I don't know when I will get my window fixed.[redacted]Desired Settlement: Fix my window!

Business

Response:

The glass did come from factory damaged. It is reordered & will be installed when new glass arrives! Seal failure is a factory warranty. we perform this glass repair as a service to our customers. Our companies warranty as most in the State of Ohio is one year on workmanship & we offer 1 year of free service to make any adjustments or repairs as needed.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

This situation has been going on since I initially called in May. I am wondering how long am I going to have to wait for the glass, have the window fixed? If they have so many customers and so much work they ned to hire more people to handle an increased work load.

Review: In March of 2011 I purchased 11 windows for my home, 1 being a garden window. I was happy with all the windows, except the garden window. It leaked and became moldy within 1 year. I began calling the Window Doctors in February of 2012. It took 37 calls over a period of about 6 months to get them to respond. It was very frustrating that they tried so hard to dissuade me by not returning by calls. They finally had me meet with the manufacturer to do a leak test. They did replace that garden window with another garden window, but that window did the exact same thing, only worse within the year. It had mold all over the inside of the window which was a real health risk. I called the company, but, of course, they never returned my call. The operator remembered me because I had called so much before, but I was always polite to her, as she had nothing to do with the poor quality of this garden window. I had no choice but to have the window replaced by another company. I had the window replaced 1/11/2015. The original cost of the garden window was $[redacted] plus the cost of the replacement window by [redacted] was $[redacted]. It cost me $[redacted] for one kitchen window.Desired Settlement: I only ask for the cost of the original window. $[redacted]

Response:

This complaint should never been accepted by the Revdex.com, as you know state law states in the state of Ohio workmanship is warranted for one year from the time of installation. The window itself is warranted through the manufacturer, in this case [redacted] who has accepted responsibility after sending their rep to the home and replacing the window, twice I believe!!! At this point we have gone above and beyond the call of duty and feel if anyone is to compensate the customer it would be[redacted], and the complaint if any should be against them, not the House Doctors Window & Door Co..

Very poor customer service. I have been waiting for a call back for weeks now, yet they call me to solicit new business. I would not recommend them at all. The door they installed is not what I expected and is unsafe as the sill is built up very high. As a senior I feel I cannot enter or exit as it is unsafe. And I do not allow anyone else to enter or exit as I am afraid they will trip. This is because they installed a "replacement door". If they would have informed me what a "replacement door" is and not have written "new sill" on the order I would have had them install a different door. I have called there several times without anything being resolved and have not received a call back even tho I was promised one more than once.
