This company is outstanding! From the first phone call, to changes in service, to the final job this firm is professional, trustworthy and extremely qualifiedI highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality handy man service

Here is the letter I sent to Steve C*** the company owner:
MrC***:
I used House Doctors' services this year to put up railings around my house The work went fine, although there was confusion over the bill due to poor communication between the tradesmen and Eric T***, but nothing that didn't get solved
So, when we needed a retaining wall built as well as some other interior work, I called your company Eric T*** came out in late September just before he was going on vacation hunting or fishing and said he would get back to us when he got back I repeat, that was in September About mid-October when I hadn't heard anything, I called once or twice a week for the next several weeks asking him to be in touch I got an email on 11/saying he was working to get the mason out and on 11/asking when we could be here for the mason I sent back info that since scheduling for him appeared to be difficult just to make the date and time and one of us would be here
I then heard NOTHINGAt that point, it was clear that you all had no intention of doing these projects the way they needed to be done and I could no longer trust your services
Slow forward to the first week in December, a month later Doug S*** sends me a text that he is supposed to call me for some reason as if he didn't even know why I tried to deal earlier with Doug S*** directly at Eric's request; S*** set an appointment and did not show or call I do not plan to work directly with him againI then called your office to ask that you call me but the only person I heard from was one of the office folks who profusely apologized for waiting so long to get back to me, as my message got lost on her deskShe blamed the lack of call backs to a poor messaging service; I don't buy that and if it were true, you should get a new messaging service since it has been two and a half months of messages not getting through
This was an on-golng onslaught of terrible customer service I plan to post negative feedback anywhere on the internet I can about your company, as I truly hate unnecessary bad customer support If you all could not do these jobs or didn't want to, all you had to do was call me early on and say so I would have done then what I have done now, and that is to get willing quotes from other recommended resources
Your truly as an ex-customer,

I have been searching for a reliable handyman for quite sometime I contacted House Doctors and they are absolutely top notch They are very professional, prompt and trustworthy I had several repairs that I needed completed and they handled them all with no problems I feel they went above and beyond I would highly recommend House Doctors for any of your handyman repairs

like to respond to your compliant that you have filed with the Revdex.com.
I am sorry that you are unhappy. Please allow me to try and explain our
position. ,This is a
time line of the events and Items:• On 9-16
at 1:08 pm I sent you an estimate (see attached) for the repair...

It stated:o
"modify the utility closet door and make it so it closes properly…customer
to help with the ideas for the front. ... we will cut out some slates to allow
It to close and cut out part of the center support."• Note it
states customer to help with the ideas for the front- at that time I had no
idea as to what you were going to decide as you spoke about other options such
as putting a black board or grease board on it. So, our estimate did not
include the cost of items we did not know what decision had or would be made.
The material cost I gave in the estimates was for normal cost of cutting it
out, anchors, some caulking and glue.• On 9-16
@ 6:13 pm you sent me an email with the statement "That sounds good/ I was
thinking after you left, and perhaps we could do something like this:"'• That was
great but the estimate did not include cost for that nor for any other changes
you would or would not make as we did not know. • On
9-22-16 we set it up for that Monday as per your email.• As I
sent the email to you in the body of it which you accepted when you told us to
do the work there are some statements that you had, they say:This is an
estimate>»> Additional Time and Materials as needed will be approved
prior by the owner (Note: This Is a time and material agreement) Please note
any other hidden damage will be discussed with the owner prior to doing any additional
wort. . Consumer agrees pay Contractor the remaining amount upon completion of
work upon presentation of invoke. Master Card, Visa, Cash or Checks Accepted Below
that it also States:If you change the scope of the job by adding items, material or
changes, it will result in the estimate being revised. – an additional charge will be
added.• On 9-26·16 when I sent my 2
Technicians out to your home they went over the work you wanted them to perform
and you signed the bottom of the written estimate sheet (see attached) That is so
that they know what you want them to do and they then know about any and or all
changes you have made since the estimate was sent. You signed that.Approva/ for Scope of
Work and Start of
WorkSignature• While they were there you sent
them to purchase stretched metal to go over the top of the space in the door,
they called me and asked if we
were supposed to do that. I asked them if they had been directed by you to do
so and they stated yes. They then again called me about the stretched metal and
stated that you wanted the brushed nickel material and that for 2 sheets it was
expensive. l again asked them to verify that with you which they stated that
they did. You then asked them to frame it out which they did. Per my technicians
you told them you would be painting and caulking the door.• At the end of the process they
gave you their estimate sheet (see attached) which has the following statement
on the bottom of ItI accept the work described above
and acknowledge that the some was performed to my satisfaction.Signature and Date: ----------------------------Work Performed by:You signed that document that you
were happy with everything-when my guys called I asked them about everything
and they stated that you were pleased with the work and they were finished. I
told them I was in the area and I would come and explain the bill due to the
changes and the add on which I came within minutes of them finishing and
leaving.• When I arrived, I asked how
everything was and you were fine with everything until we started talking about
the bill. I explained the extra material, I explained that the scope of the job
had changed and as such I needed to add those changes to the bill. You were not
happy about that at the time. I reminded you of this statement on the estimate
sheet:o Consumer agrees to pay Contractor
the remaining amount upon completion of work upon presentation of invoice.
Master Card, Visa, Cash or Checks Accepted You were very upset; in no way, did
I intend to "belittle you" I did not shout at you but yes I was firm
about my position on the Invoice. I thought as upset as you were that it was a
money issue and that was not a big problem for me as we have customers that
will have a higher bill than expected due to hidden Issues that are not known.
So, when that happens we let them make arrangements with us and that is all I
was trying to let you know.Again, I am sorry that you were
upset, that the bill was larger than you had planned, but the bill was accurate
and I believe fair. Just as a point of reference you had 2 people on the job
and you paid for 1 person, we went and picked up additional material and I
charge you cost for those items with no mark up, it is normal in the industry
to mark up the material anywhere from 30 to 50 percent and I showed you the
bill from [redacted] and only charged you cost for those items. I charged you
for 3.5 hours which was the total time my folks were at your home. I did not
charge you for the helper at all.I am sorry you have this issue with
your utility room door the real issue is with the person that installed the Hot
water heater and did not think about how would the door close.I am again sorry that you are not
happy with my position on this but I think that I have been more than fair with
the invoice and our expectations.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: He had pulled and completed HOMEOWNER PERMITS not Business doing the work permits as he is a business doing work. The township pulled our permit due to the regulations not being followed on his part.
Their is no way that the amount of work that has been done on this project adds up due to the fact that their were may days that their was nothing done due to a missing part of the permit. If you have any questions you can call the contractor who can verify the amount of work and what still needs to be done. In regards to the cabinets the contractor [redacted] can concur to my statements due to overtime the township showed up with a problem he would state to me that I needed to speak to [redacted]. Their was a $10,000.00 deposit that was suppose to be go to ordering the cabinets because of the fact that the Cabinets needed to be ordered right away to keep the project on track because it was a 8 weeks for completion. The legal battle that I got into the township was due to his bad permits on the house.  [redacted]'s Phone number is [redacted]

Review: [redacted] started a job on 5/7/2014 and their has been nothing but permit issues to the point of having to let his company go.Every week Richard was calling and asking for money on Fridays. I asked him about the cabinets because this was to be a couple of weeks job. He said that he ordered them and that they were on time. He took a deposit of $10,000 dollars. Then he took $8,000.00 then he took $5,600.00 and then the last about before we got another permit issue was $3,000.00.He was never around the job and he was never around when I called because the township had questions and if he was around he would say go see [redacted]. Now that all of these issues have been fixed and we are ready for the cabinets he claims that he does not have them and that he never ordered them. They were $12,000.00 cabinets.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund, for said cabinets that he never ordered. The cabinets valued at $12,000.00 Richard Claims he did $26,000.00 in work but that is not even true due to photos showing the lack of work ever done. The Kitchen and Handicapped Bathroom still sit the same as the last day his workers ever stepped foot in the house.

Business

Response:

We worked on [redacted] job from May 2014 until November 2014. During that period we put in 336 man-hours of work. We were forced to stop working in November because of the legal battles [redacted] got into with the township and the permit. This dispute she was having with the township had NOTHING to do with us. As a result, we were not able to get the required inspections of the work we completed. As far as township questions about the permit, I was always available on my office telephone or my cell phone. [redacted] states that her permit issues were not settled until now, October 2015. We have had no contact with her since she fired us December 2015, i.e., 11 months! So we are not to be blamed for her permit issues. Her cabinets were never ordered because we were waiting for her to resolve these permit problems The money she had given us did not even cover the work we had already completed. We put in over $30,000 of work including labor and materials. We paid us $26,600. The cabinets were never going to cost $12.000 - we're talking about 15 cabinets. I left her a message telling her that I am more than willing to complete her job for original amount. I designed a beautiful kitchen and bathroom for her.
