Review: Our carpet was not laid properly, left violations that have been unresolved. Customer service agents do not follow up and when they do they have misinformation. A month later we are still awaiting the job to be complete. At least 6,000 SQ. FT. project and having someone come out is a horrid experience. I have never meet with people so unprofessional or unconcerned with the finished product of their complany.Desired Settlement: Finish the job without the stress of having to keep calling and going to their place of business. I want no contact with the receptionist. Would like to owner to come out as he did when receiving my check to speak with him concerning all of the issues that have been happening.

Review: A quote sent me by email on a Friday said the cost of the flooring we chose would be $3.00 per square foot. They emailed me at 3:00 pm Saturday to say the material was on sale during a Labor Day Sale. The new price was now $3.49. 50 cents MORE. Went down there Sunday and they were closed. Closed Monday too. I called Tuesday and was told the sales person made a typo but they'd be willing to honor the labor day sale price even though the labor day weekend was over. You know, the one they weren't open for. I told them I had in writing a quote for $3.00 a square foot, and that's what I'd be willing to pay. They told me the original price was $4.00. I'm SURE the price listed in the store was $3.49. I was told that they would not honor that price since I didn't sign the contract. THEY DID! That was mailed to me that Friday. They now accuse me of swearing and saying the sales person had been there for 14 years and lying was not in her character. ??? This of course made me feel like *I* was being called a liar! *I* am not the one that made a typo and tried to cover it up. Worse yet, hoping that I'm stupid.Desired Settlement: We like the material. I will find the same brand and the same model and if it costs me more than $3.00 per square foot, I believe they should pay the difference.

Response:

In response to Mr. [redacted] complaint:

The proposal (not a contract) sent to Mr. [redacted] was for material/labor; an "installed" price. The installed price, $8780.35, was based on a cost of $3.99/sq. ft.

The new price, based on $3.49/sq. ft., is for a total of $8350.35 (860 sq. ft. @ $0.50 equals a savings of $430.00).

We agree the original proposal quotes $3.00/sq. ft. which is a typo (the "nine" & "zero" are next to each other on the keyboard). We agree that a mistake was

made (people do make mistakes) however, the total installed prices are correct. Mr. [redacted] is well aware the regular price of $3.99/sq. ft. is, was, and always has been

the price posted on the material. Our sales associate gave him a business card with the $3.99 price written on it. As of this time we have yet to receive a signed proposal

accepting any part of the order.

In order to satisfy Mr. [redacted] we would be more than happy to offer the material at the $3.00/sq. ft. price if that is what he wants.

I would also note that since the time that this complaint was made we have received three phone calls from Mr. [redacted]. He has been belligerent and verbally abusive

during those calls. He has interrupted our attempts to be responsive, refused to listen and hung-up on all three calls. In addition he has sent e-mails which are threatening

and demanding. We treat our customers respect and should not be expected to tolerate disrespect from any customer.

House of Carpets has been in business for over sixty-four years. We take great pride in our reputation of "going the distance" in order to keep our customers happy.

I believe our impeccable record with Revdex.com reflects that that reputation and attitude.

I look forward to a response from the Revdex.com as we will not be contacting Mr. [redacted] through any other means.

Response:

If in fact carpet one does honor the price of $3.00 per square foot, we will purchase the material. We will not however, want them in our house to do the install...

Do to delays in Insurance and Mortgage company payments (as carpet one is aware) we will buy the flooring in halves. 500 sq' at one time, and 400 sq' the next. We will then purchase the carpeting at the agreed upon price.

Please note: What upset me was that I received an email telling me the material was on "sale" during a Labor day sale. They were closed both the Sunday prior to Labor day, and Labor day itself. When I called Corporate I was told there were no Labor day sales. I firmly believe an attempt at obfuscation took place, hoping I'd not notice. As for who yelled over who? THIS is how I handle my anger.

When I called Tuesday for a breakdown of costs, I was told there would be a $150.00 charge for delivery. I have my own truck I declared, and was told there was no way to avoid it. When I called the - I THINK it was Manteca store - I was told there was no problem picking it up myself. If the warehouse is in Manteca, I respectfully request that I be allowed to retrieve it myself. I would in fact be willing to drive to Sacramento to get it if need be. Otherwise I expect that $150.00 charge to mean it's delivered directly to my home and stacked in a location in my home.

Lastly, I will remain in my truck while my wife makes the financial transactions.

Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
