We cannot apologize enough for the situation that occurred with your wife's dulcimers As you described, there was an unfortunate mwhere we had another customer whose dulcimer was deemed not worth the repair costs, and they called us giving us the go-ahead to dispose of
that instrumentThis happened at the same time your wife's dulcimers were back at our shop, and the employee responsible did not check details fully to make sure he was dealing with the correct instrumentHe has assumed full responsibility and we have reviewed procedures with all our staff regarding correct tracking of instrument repairs We now have a policy moving forward that any instrument or material indicated for discarding must be approved by the store’s owner or a manager, and that a second contact with the instrument’s owner must be madeWe are also examining and improving all of our procedures regarding declined or unattempted repairs We do aim to treat all of our customer's instruments with the utmost respect and care, and in our years of business, this is the first time such an unfortunate mhas occurredI know that nothing can replace the loss of an item with sentimental value, but if you are open to further discussion, I would be happy to continue the conversation privatelyI completely understand your need to leave this review, and want to stress that this is an extremely unusual incident which we assume full responsibility for With sincere apologies, David EE*** *** *** ** *** ***
