The representative management of Club at the Creek and Vineyard Apartments, the apartment management division of Houses Inc. has very little empathy towards the well being of their tenants. I was without air-conditioning from June, 27 2016 - July, 5 2016. Numerous voicemail messages and emails that were personally sent daily during that period were never received a single response. I was not given the simple courtesy of a return phone call or an email reply to even notify me that my issue was being addressed. I expressed that I merely wanted acknowledgement that my messages were received and validation that my needs were worthy of being taken seriously. I did not expect that my manager personally perform the repairs. Property management refused to accept any accountability for their complete lack of action and this behavior displayed by a property manager is absolutely unacceptable. Thankfully I am a young and healthy person. However, consider this -- If I was not able to physically or financially provide for myself, how might these conditions impact my well-being? At the risk of stating the obvious, the Mid-Summer heat and humidity is a well known, severe, health hazard if the proper precautions or accommodations are not taken seriously. I was made to feel completely helpless and quite frankly, worthless due to the absolute absence of communication. The only time I was able to reach management was to ask if my voicemail was received. Yes, I had to call to obtain any type of progress update. I successfully reached a representative just one attempt of many over the course of eight days. By no means is, "It was a holiday weekend", any excuse for the extreme lack of responsiveness. As a matter of fact, I reported the outage on Thursday evening. Furthermore, when normal business resumed on July, 5 I was met with an attitude full of defensiveness, hostility, and apathy for my experience. Apartment managers can not conduct business in this manner. Tenants are due the same courtesy and consideration as anyone else. It is a shame that renters have little to no rights in the state of Arkansas when an establishment demonstrates such blatant indifference to their tenants safety.
