Revdex.com Case# [redacted] Houston Federal Credit Union is in receipt of the mentioned member's complaint and appreciate the opportunity to respondMr [redacted] complained of the Unfair Business Practices concerning the Collateral Protective Insurance that was added to his vehicle loanThis premium was added due to non-insurance received by the credit union from the insurance companyIn consideration of Mr [redacted] 's loan, a 1st Notice of missing insurance was mailed on 06/27/and a 2nd Notice was mailed on 07/25/to the members correct and updated addressWhen no response or insurance documentation was received a policy was added on 08/22/ According the Supplemental Insurance agreement signed by the member this allows the credit union to protect our collateral with the necessary policy and change of payment correspondingMr [redacted] was able to provide a copy of his insurance policy on 08/27/but the formidable lienholder of the collateral was not attached to this documentLienholder Notice was mailed was on 09/02/after information was verified with the corporate office of the insurance company to be missingWith regards to Mr [redacted] 's request for a refund, we have made an effort to get the lienholder updated and secured on the collateral for the member insuring a refund can be receivedHouston Federal Credit Union sincerely regrets any inconvenience this issue may have causedThanks, Shawna [redacted] Houston Federal Credit Union Loan Services Supervisor 281-243-

Member spoke to *** *** on 04/10/in regards to *** *** *** being added to his loan. *** instructed the member he needed a declaration page from his insurance company with effective dates of 12/27/to 12/27/He told *** his insurance was cancelled but he would
send his new policy with the dates required.On 04/24/the member e-mailed *** *** insurance documents with an effective date of 04/06/17, Jose forwarded directly to Sonia D*** (Assistant Vice President Loan Services) because he only wanted to deal with a Manger. Sonia D*** reviewed the documents and responded to member this same day, and because *** *** *** did not have Houston Federal Credit Union listed has lien holder. Sonia told member that she would call his insurance company and request the proper documents needed for refund and she explained to member that he would only receive a partial refund, unless he was able to supply Houston Federal Credit Union with proof of insurance from 12/27/to 04/06/17.On 04/27/Houston Federal Credit Union received a fax policy declarations page from *** *** *** with effective dates of 04/06/through 10/06/2017. Houston Federal credited the member a refund of $1,on 04/28/17. Due to a lapse in insurance coverage the member did not receive a full refund of $2,297.00. Sonia D*** notified the member that his full premium charge of $2,was only partially refunded in the amount of $1,due to a lapse in insurance coverage from the time period of 12/27/through 4/06/us why here

HFCU called Ms*** twice July 5, and once July 6, and left a voicemail asking Ms*** to return a phone call to Sarita John and she has not responded Ms*** received a fraud alert on 6/10/She went to the HFCU Southeast branch and dealt with Barbara ***Barbara
*** looked at her account and informed Ms*** that one transaction, *** for $was declined and the other transaction, *** for $was still pendingMs*** filled out a dispute form for the $and was told that the dispute cannot be submitted until the transaction has been posted to the account and that provisional credit can take 7-business daysBarbara *** faxed the dispute on 6/15/HFCU Card Services department did not receive itThe member then came back in to the HFCU Southeast branch on 6/16/and talked with Luis ***She believed the second transaction that was declined had posted to her account, which was it did not She filled out a second dispute form for the same $transactionOn 6/23/16, provisional credit was deposited to her accountThe $transaction never posted to her account.y here

Please be advised that a check for the $5.00 deposit to open the membership has been mailed to [redacted] to the address on file.I am truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, and have counseled the [redacted] who failed to mail the check out to [redacted] in...

In consideration of Mr. [redacted]'s loan, a 1st Notice of missing insurance was mailed on 06/27/2016 and a 2nd Notice was mailed on 07/25/2016 to the members correct and updated address.
