Memo for Record This is a credit card fraud complaint against: Houzz [redacted] University Ave Palo Alto, CA XXXXX-XXXX telephone: X-XXX-XXX-XXXX On August 2016, I placed order # XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX for one unit of Porc-a-fix porcelain repair glaze white AS-The cost, including free shipping, was $ On August 2016, I was informed by email that Houzz had "been unable to obtain payment from the credit card used" and that I must update the payment method The credit card is a VISA card #XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I contacted VISA via telephone X-XXX-XXX-XXXX I spoke with the department supervisor, Victor, employee #XXXXX Victor informed me that Houzz had submitted a bill for a recurring monthly charge for $rather than a one time charge of $ The card is not authorized for a recurring charge and VISA declined payment I spoke with Carly, customer service supervisor at Houzz, employee [redacted] phone number (XXX) XXX-XXXX I informed her that I had made a "one time purchase" and not a recurring purchase Carly informed me that Houzz automatically sets up accounts as recurring and that I could either cancel the order or provide another method of payment I canceled the order and informed her that the recurring charge was unauthorized and constitutes fraud I also pointed out that VISA apparently considered it fraud also since they declined the charge Her response amounted to that it was not her problem and that she would pass my comments on to her management
