Homeowner [redacted] was informed via [redacted] letter that the roof issue is not a structural defect and service for the issue was nonwarrantable and that she could contact [redacted] ([redacted]) to file a claim if she felt it was a construction defect. On 2/1/2016, [redacted] W[redacted] with K. Hovnanian received a text from [redacted] wanting to know what K. Hovnanian was doing about the roof. The Director of Homeowner Services for K. Hovnanian reviewed the request again and we contacted the Homeowner, explained that the roof was out of warranty and that we sent a letter stating that, as well as instruction on how to contact [redacted] in the event she wished to file a claim. [redacted] has since been in contact with [redacted] regarding the roof. K. Hovnanian stands behind thier original decision.

Review: I own a Hovanian home that has 5 year roof warranty and 10 year structural warranty. The home was built in 2009, recently a major leak was discovered. I Contacted Hovanian, sent service representative Aaron to investigate the issue upon inspection he said he was 90% sure Hovanian would cover the repair of the leakhowever his supervisor Jimmy said it's not covered by warranty which is false.

I has two independent roofing contractors inspect the roof and told me the leak is due to defective structural workmanship by the builder therefore covered by warranty however Hovanian continues to deny my claim or make any effort to stand by their builder warranty.Desired Settlement: I want the builder to repair the leaking roof which is due to poor quality and inferior workmanship.

Review: I purchased a brand new home from K. Hovanian in Dec. 014. Approximatley five months ago, they began work in the front and on the side (common property) of my home. Specifically, they tore up the concrete to install an ADA compliant compliant ramp. In the process, they damaged my irrigation system and never even bothered to tell me. I advised them of this problem and I have yet to receive reimbursement for the damages that I paid for due to their error, although I submitted proof of payment as requested.

What is more disturbing is that the huge ditch from the torn up concrete and grass has not been repaired although several months have gone by. I noticed that they dumped hay in it to try to cover it up! This is an embarassment. The hay has blown around, and a child walking home from school fell in! I reached out to was Ray S[redacted] Senior Community Construction Manager and he stated it will not be repaired until the Spring. This is unacceptable as this is a safety issue, an eyesore, and a complete embarassment for what is supposed to be an "Estate Community."Desired Settlement: Repair the concrete and replace the grass.
