I recently transferred one of my domains to Hover and was very impressed with the level of customer service. The price was better than my previous registrar and there was no waiting time to speak to a customer service representative. The staff were very helpful and the process was quick and easy.
. ***. This company is owned by *** Inc. their parent company. Hover buys domain registrars and does a *** job at migrating them over or servicing them. THEY DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES DONE! We lost thousands of dollars due to lost domain names in such a move. Hover was responsible for us loosing over a dozen high valued domain names that we owned for over ten years. Complete neglect of customers at Hover.
My daughter is a Canadian lawyer. I am in marketing and designed and maintain her website. An IT person she hired decided to move her domain hosting to Hover because apparently Canadian lawyers are supposed to have any digital information hosted in Canada. However, Hover uses *** servers and my daughter's domain was actually being hosted in Utah. So first they didn't deliver what was asked for. The hosting prices and domain prices are out of line with what is charged elsewhere. When I sought to transfer the domain they took more than a week to release the domain and I had to contact them several times. Finally, months after the domain had been transferred (and renewed through the new hosting) I received a notice to renew the domain with Hover citing an expiry date in 2 days and a renewal fee 4 times what I paid at Web Hosting Canada. Since the domain had been transferred I didn't think that the payment link in the email would work, but it was live. An unwary consumer could have paid $59 to renew a domain with Hover which in fact was no longer hosted by Hover. ***
I logged into the account, got a service representative in chat and they deleted the account and domain record, but, again, had I not been aware of the transfer, as many website owners might not be, I could have easily paid $59 for nothing.
