Failed Installation, Improper Installation, Incomplete Installation, Incorrect Product
I build a new home in 2014, with *** Services" as the Plumbing & HVAC contractor. Mr. installed a lesser quality furnace, incorrectly installed the AC unit, incorrectly installed HVAC ductwork, and failed to complete the HVAC installation. Mr. was paid in full, upon completion of the installation, with the assumption that the equipment was installed correctly. Upon initial startup the AC failed to perform and ultimately failed due to a flawed installation and attempted repair by Mr. Upon initial startup the Furnace overheated and went into "safe mode", upon inspection it was discovered, and validated by several profession HVAC providers, that the furnace installation was not complete, included the incorrect furnace per our contract), and made to appear as a complete installation (intentionally poking disconnected wires into the furnace unit and removal of the energy rating stickers), also the ductwork was undersized as well as poorly laid out. The poor ductwork installation caused improper heat/cool air distribution throughout the main level.
Shortly after the discoveries above, both the AC and the Heating unit where replaced along with an extensive repair of the ductwork. Mr. was asked to pay for the replacement and repair, however declined. Mr. was sued in Small Claims court and lost. Mr. has failed to pay the amount awarded, continuing to work around wage garnishments in conclusion with many of his builders.
