I did speak with Mr*** a while back and reminded him that we gave him an option of heavy street type curbing at the cost of around $6-7k for grading, curbing and driveway/landscaping repairs after install, he didn't want to spend that much*** ***, *** Concrete told him if he has parties with a driveway full of cars and they back over the curb that was formed on top of the existing concrete drive, that it will break awayHe said "we won't be driving over it."Attached is the original invoice for the curbing and numerous other repairs around the house and the amount of $paid to *** Concrete for the install of the curbing and drain out connectionIf you call any reputable curbing company, they will quote you $35-per linear foot for curbingIf I remember correctly, he has about feet or more of driveway down that right side. I have no intentions nor can afford to give him a $curbing jobWe did what he chose to have done at that timeWhen I called mentioned it to *** ***, the first thing he said was "I told him it would come apart if he drives on it."As far as I know, this is the only unhappy client that I've ever hadI do a quality job for a fair price and make every effort to finish with a happy client. At the time that we installed the concrete bumper, we did several other repairs for Mr***The concrete contractor, *** *** *** suggested to us that if the bumper was going to be driven on from cars on the driveway that the only way to do it was to dig out and install real
street curbing, a drainage culvert and a drain pipe through the yard(We did install) to keep the drainage from washing out the yardHe didn't want to spend the money to install the proper curbing that would withstand cars bumping and driving over itI would be glad to take what's left of the concrete bumper out and install real curbing to the existing drain box, but not free. I do not agree with his assessmentI don't recall any discussion about not spending the money to put in a proper curbIt was discussed that the curb be of the same quality and stability of the other curbing around my circle drivewayThat curbing has been there for years with out a single crackThis curb was installed right on top of the concrete driveway wit very little or nothing to secure it from moving even with the slightest bump from a tire. As I recall, the sub that did the sub-standard work walked off the job. I have called and left messages MrHoward a number of times to work this outI want to follow protocol w/ the Revdex.com but would request MrHoward submit his proposal for the proper replacement of this broken, disintegrating, sub standard curbing to match the quality of the rest of the curb around the circle drive. I think it should be noted that this is my fifth homeI have dealt with a number of contractors and never have had the need to contact the Revdex.comIt has been my experience over the years that if substandard work is performed or there is a problem, then it is incumbent of the contractor to work it out with the homeownerThat is all I want to accomplish here. *** *** ** *** | President / CEO
