Review: On Thursday, October 10, 2013, I reserved a room online to reside at the Howard Johnson-[redacted] from Saturday, October 12, 2013 and check out Sunday, October 13, 2013. I was sent a confirmation number to confirm this transaction via email. Once I arrived to check-in, I was informed by the manager ([redacted]), that no rooms were available, even though I presented my online reservation confirmation. After providing me with very little details regarding why the room was not available, he referred me to the [redacted], with a guarantee that the [redacted] would honor the room rate of $83.40 plus taxes that was quoted online. The [redacted] did not honor this price; however, I was fortunate to book a room at the [redacted] for $117.65. Sunday morning, October 13, 2013, I went to Howard Johnson-[redacted] and spoke with the manager on duty (Marnique) and made them aware that [redacted] did no honor the price and could I be reimbursed the difference, but I was told that this decision would have to be approved by the corporate management. I left a copy of my confirmation and receipt from Best Western. I followed up with a phone call on Monday, October 21, 2013 and was transferred to a general manager. I left a detailed message, however, as of Wednesday, October 23, 2013, I have not received a call regarding the matter.Desired Settlement: 1. Why was the room not available, even though I had a confirmation?2. Reimburse the differnce of price I was quoted.3. Why I was told the referred hotel would honor the quoted price?

I hope this email finds you well and in the best of spirits. Please accept our sincerest apologies for your inconvenience you had while trying to stay at our hotel. Its my belief that we were unable to honor the aforementioned reservation due to maintenance issues in the guestroom. I will gladly reimburse you the difference that is $34.25 or may I offer you something better, a complimentary stay on your next visit to our area. Please let me know at your earliest convenience which you would prefer. Again, please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience you experienced and we hope you would choose us in the future to make this up to you.
