I am rejecting this response because: The response has claims I did not threaten anyone My reviews online are based on my experience and contain many facts along with my personal opinion The hotel manager told me that it was only the maid staff who reported it, and now they are stating that multiple managers were there I guess they must have multiple managers on their maid staff working the same shift Their response is purely defensive and they obviously do not care about me as a consumer

On 11/2/when the housekeeper entered room to clean the room after the guest had departed the room had a strong odor of marijuana and cigarette, further evidence of marijuana stems where found on the bathroom counter and ashes on the nightstand and around the toiletThe images are date
stamped and the condition of the room was observed by two members of management in addition to the housekeeper who made the discoveryPer the signed rental agreement the guest was aware there would be a charge of $for smoking in our non-smoking roomThe guest was charged on 11/2/and has since threatened and slandered the hotel in an attempt to force a refundThe fee stands and will not be refundedCopies of the images are available upon request

I am rejecting this response because:  The response has false claims.  I did not threaten anyone.  My reviews online are based on my experience and contain many facts along with my personal opinion.  The hotel manager told me that it was only the maid staff who reported it, and now they are stating that multiple managers were there.  I guess they must have multiple managers on their maid staff working the same shift.  Their response is purely defensive and they obviously do not care about me as a consumer.

Review: I stayed at this hotel with my two children and their mother for two days for my daughter's softball tournament. After checking out and arriving home, I discovered a charge from Howard Johnson for $267.78. I called them and inquired about the fee and was told that it was for smoking in the room. I told them I did not smoke in the room and they insisted that they had pictures and that the charge would not be removed. They also stated that smoke was bellowing out of the room when they came to clean the room. I know that I did not smoke in the room and am 100% sure that no one else with me smoked in the room. When we left the room, there was a maid staff with at least 5 people standing a couple doors down from us. There was no smoke in the room and their claim is ridiculous. They also claimed that the staff smelled smoke the previous day too, which is when my family was at softball games for most of the day (we were gone from 7:45am - 2:00pm & from 3:45pm - 7:30pm). If there are any pictures, the pictures are not of me and my family or of anything from my family. This hotel is either committing fraud or getting hoodwinked by their staff and using my family as an alibi for their actions.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund of the fraudulent charge and an apology for the hassle.

Per the signed rental agreement the guest was aware there would be a charge of $250.00 for smoking in our non-smoking room. The guest was charged on 11/2/14 and has since threatened and slandered the hotel in an attempt to force a refund. The fee stands and will not be refunded. Copies of the images are available upon request.
