Howard Johnson Motel

Review: I would like to Dispute 2 charges to my VISA account number [redacted] on July [redacted], posted on July [redacted] from the Howard Johnsons Inn in Liberty, New York. The charges were for $123.17 each. My reasoning is as stated below:On June *, 2013 I made a reservation through [redacted] for two rooms at Howard Johnson Inn, Liberty, New York:Booking number [redacted]Check in:Saturday, July **, 2013Check out:Sunday, July **, 2013Rooms:2 Double Room with two double beds non-smoking for [redacted]Double Room with two double beds non-smoking for [redacted]Total price US$ for both rooms $168.30.We ([redacted], [redacted] and [redacted]) arrived at the Howard Johnsons Inn, [redacted] on July [redacted] at approximately 1:30 p.m. with confirmation in hand. When I went to the desk the woman that worked there spoke very broken English and seemed to be very stressed out. There was another couple ahead of us with an issue and she asked them if she could help us. They agreed and she asked for the name our reservations were in and I gave her [redacted] and [redacted] (I even spelled the names for her). She said she did not have any reservations in those names. Then I gave her my name ([redacted]) and she again said that she had no reservation for us. I even told her I had a confirmation number and she told me that met nothing to her. I said I needed 2 rooms and she stated there were no rooms left at the Howard Johnsons. As we left I told her that these rooms better not be charged to my credit card and she said she had no reservations in those names. Imagine being 4 hours from home and not having a reservation when you expected to. So we went down the road and there was a Days Inn, Liberty that still had 2 rooms and we ended up spending $152.55 per room per night to stay there. So not only did we not have a reservation at the Howard Johnsons that I have been charged for I also had to make and new reservation at the Days Inn and be charged for that.Desired Settlement: I have been working with WBVFCU and they suggested I file this complaint. I would like to have these charges removed from my VISA. $123.17 per room (2rooms)for July **, 2013, total $246.34.Not enough room above for full explanation as to where this stands to date. Still not resolved. This hotel needs to be looked into. I believe they told me they had no reservation so that they could sell my rooms and then charge me for "No Show". Very unethical and probably not legal.
