Howard Johnson Williamstown Reviews (1)
I made a reservation on 10/2/2013 to stay at motel starting 10/10/2013 evening and leaving 10/12/2013 morning (ie, for 2 nights). On 10/7/2013 I called motel to cancel reservation (ie, I was giving them 4 days notice), but they refused to cancel. They said they require 7 days notice for cancellations! When I discussed this with the manager, Mr. [redacted], he offered 2 unreasonable options, both of which would be costly to me. I feel that this type of cancellation policy is very unreasonable for a tourist motel. How can anyone be sure that that no obstacle will occur within 7 days prior to arrival? In this case, since I was proactive and provided notice well in advance, it feels to me that this business is just trying to rip me off, taking my money without providing any service whatsoever, and being very unpleasant. My expectation as a person who has been staying in motels for seven decades is that this type of arbitrary, overly restrictive cancellation practice is unacceptable, and frankly, I feel like a victim who had the misfortune to run across this rip-off business, rather than like a welcome customer, tourist, or respected senior citizen. As it stands, this business is refusing to refund my deposit despite my best efforts to cancel four days in advance. Absolutely unacceptable.Product_Or_Service: Motel reservationOrder_Number: Confirmation #XXXXXXDesired SettlementI desire a cancellation of credit card billing.
