On 10/18/2014, [redacted]s came into the shop for an oil change and she stated she had an alignment problem. alignment to be out. I called the customer and explained that she had bad outer tie rod ends and that the rack and pinion was leaking. I gave her prices on both and she told me that she could only afford the tie rod ends. She then gave Meineke permission to replace them and do the alignment. We performed the work and returned the car in better and safer condition than when the car came in. Two days later, [redacted]s came back stating that the work we did on her car was under warranty from the place she was financing the car from and she stated that she didn't know that at the time. She wanted her money back for the work we did. We stated that we can't give her money back because the work was already done and we didn't know she had a warranty and neither did she at the time and she gave us permission to do the work.

engine light. The code that resulted was a P0401 exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient. The exhaust issue is in no way related to the previous ignition issue. In order to diagnose the exhaust system, we would need to run an EGR system diagnostic. [redacted] did not understand why a second charge would be issued. The technician explained to Mr. [redacted] that we would gladly run the diagnostic on the exhaust system to find the underlying problem. Mr. [redacted] declined because he did not want to pay another diagnostic fee. He assumed that the first diagnostic test should have detected this new exhaust code. At the time of the first diagnostic, there was no EGR system problem, and therefore, it was not detected. After explaining this to Mr. Evans, he did not understand why he would have to pay a second diagnostic fee.
