This project was accepted with the stipulation that the work needed to be completed for the reverse mortgage to be approved would be done first and paid for, and all other work would follow that payment. Upon completing said work there were still many cat urine covered items in the house that we... removed free of charge. Then once that was done it was apparent that the garage was being urinated in and defecated in by cats on a regular basis. Not to mention that there was evidence that a cat was now urinating on the new flooring we had installed in the house, and another cat that did not have to use of its hind legs or control over it's bowls was still in the house causing a smell constantly. We had a cleaning crew come in to clean the new and old urine off the flooring and baseboards where it appeared to be. All of this in a desperate attempt to make the house not smell of cat urine, and when I say smell of cat urine I mean the entire house smelling like urine. By this point we had already put much more time and money into the project than we had contracted for, and we determined to help get the reverse mortgage approved so the house was not lost. The front doors were painted with a high odor oil based paint the day before the inspector was supposed to show up to help reduce the overbearing cat urine smell that still lingered in the home due to the continuous cat presence. We succeeded in making the house presentable and were able to get the approval of the reverse mortgage. Upon meeting up again, we discussed doing other work, and afterwards were told that we were not going to get paid for anything until all the other work was done, and she was reimbursed for furniture damages that were clearly caused by cat scratching and urination. At this point we decided to not return to the home that had once again taken on a terrible cat urine smell that was bad enough that all parties involved had to take turns going outside as to not get sick. We have attempted to be reasonable and flexible, but at every turn we have been met by unreasonable requests, ideas and behavior. In the end we did not charge for all the work we completed and time spent saving this house from foreclosure.

I am rejecting this response because: These are outlandish remarks Not one thing is done in this house to any kind of standards Ms*** *** at *** here in San Antonio Texas...was here in the house toward the end of this mess On the day that the ***s were to return they left her sitting outside of the house waiting for them and they never showed...they made this agreement themselves As I have stated before they were hired to do abatement of the cat smell in the house and only thing in the garage was the seal on the garage door which they did not do...they made the mistakes on the floor and they themselves had to replace the floors...there still painters tape on the front door and they never put down the tile floor in the bathroom (this was also part of the abatement) I over paid on the repair of the Air Conditioner which there are witnesses how much I was to pay I have a tape on the phone from the furniture restor who was waiting for a call back never got it from the ***s ...stated again infront of witness oh we have go get the Hutch There are so many things wrong.....baseboards not right, how do the cats break a stove, dent a refrig, not finish a floor....on it goes

After reviewing the communications and circumstances concerning this customer, we have determined that there is no reasonable way to satisfy this situation, other than to cease contact. We were called in to help Ms***-*** to pass an inspection from an underwriter because she was trying to secure a reverse mortgage to fund her attempt to avoid default and foreclosure on her primary mortgage to USAA. The initial inspector had refused to finish his inspection because of the stench permeating the entire house from the urine and defecation produced by several pet and feral cats. In cooperation with the lender, an advocate from a non-profit, and Ms***-***, we contracted to remove all the soiled carpet and padding, remove some trash, clean the slab, walls, doors, some furniture and appliances, and garage utility room, bathrooms, and bedrooms and closets of this two story house, (these areas where the cats had free reign), install new laminate flooring, and re-carpet the stairs. Her part was to organize the trash she wanted disposed of, and keep the cats from continuing to mark and soil the areas we were trying to clean. When the sub-contractors were working, she came home and started screaming at them and drove them from her house saying they were killing her cats. Later, after she calmed down and was more rational, she realized the cats were not harmed, and she apologized, and promised to allow the cleaning to continue. Even after several cleanings we determined the concrete slab needed to be steam cleaned, which we hod done by a professional house cleaning sub-contractor, installed the laminate flooring and disposed of the trash which she had piled in the middle of several rooms, and on which the cats had continued to soil. There was a large antique china cabinet which the cats had severely damaged and marked which I agreed at Ms***-***'s request to load & haul (at no charge) to a woodworker who specializes in restoring furniture to give her an estimate. She and the non-profit advocate were informed of the woodworkers business name and contact information. Ms***-*** later claimed I tried to steal her cabinet. The re inspection was scheduled several times because after cleaning, the cats were allowed to re-soil various areas. Just prior to the inspection that was successful, we agreed to paint the front door and dining room bay window seat with oil based paint to help mask the smell after the reverse mortgage was approved and closing scheduled, Ms***-*** informed the advocate she had no intention of allowing disbursement to us for the work using various excuses, including damage to furniture, bad workmanship and theft of some items she had put in the trash piles, as well as attempting to poison her cats with oil based paint. Ms***-*** appears to be lucid on occasion, and irrational at other times, so I don't know if she is an opportunist attempting fraudulent claims to avoid just payments, or if she is simply delusional. In any case, if she offered ten times our contract price, I would have no further dealings with this woman. My Mom used to say "If you can't say anything good about someone, say nothing." That doesn't work when someone actively tries to attack the reputation and good name of a company I've worked for over years to build. I was formerly the vice-chairman for the San Antonio Home Improvement Board, appointed by the City Council. We approved contractor licenses, heard and mediated disputes between citizens and contractors, and set the building codes for the city. I do not believe a reasonable resolution with this individual is possible
