Initial Business Response
Mr. [redacted] contacted us to do a job replacing a water tank. He originally had a service person come out from [redacted] Co. and was told that he needed his tank replaced. For whatever reason he contacted us to replace the tank.
His dispute is that we charged more per hour than what he was quoted. We had the option of either sending 1 man to do the job which would take approximately 4 hours but instead sent 2 men to do the job in 2 hours. Upon arrival at the job location our technician determined that Mr. [redacted] didn't need to spend the money replacing his tank because the problem was his check valve, which the technician replaced.
It's our position that had we in fact done the replacing of the tank which is what he ASKED for, he would have been charged $340 on labor for the technician and helper instead of the origin quote of one technician for 4 hours at $90/hr which would have cost him $360 in labor plus the price of the tank. He fails to see that 1 man for 4 hours costs roughly the same as 2 men for 2 hours. We don't consider it to be OUR fault that he was told by another pump company that he needed a new tank when he really didn't. He's instead placing blame on us for charging him to send 2 men out to replace his tank when that isn't really the issue. We in fact saved him hundreds of dollars by telling him he didn't NEED a new tank.
Regardless, we've agreed to settle the matter with him for a total of $200 and he's agreed to rescind his disputed credit card claim and the report to you.
