Complaint ID 12215996   The customer came to us and purchased this vehicle on 8/16/2016.  At the time of purchase the vehicle drove and ran great.  There were no safety issues with the frame at all.  Yes there was some rusting due to the vehicle's history of being in an area...

where there is a lot of salt but nothing unsafe at all.  We look at our vehicles for any kind of unsafe frame rust prior to purchasing them.  The customer could have checked the vehicle out or had a mechanic check it out for them prior to purchase. This way if the rust was more than they were comfortable with then they could have declined the purchase. The customer did not do this.  The auction we buy vehicles from marks "frame damage" on any vehicle that has rust on the frame, they also mark it frame damage if the tie down holes are slightly bent due to the chains from being hauled.  This however does not affect the cost or value of the vehicle.  The title is still clean and clear, not salvage, not total loss.  We would have bought the Sequoia back from the customer for a lot more than $4000.  I am not sure who the customer sold the vehicle to but they got a really good deal at $4000.  The Sequoia would have sold for more than if it did have a salvage title and it did not. I am sorry the customer was not happy with the condition of the under side of the vehicle but they had every chance to look at that before the purchase. We can not be responsible for purchases that customers make and are not happy with them.  The first we had heard about this was 10 months after the customer purchased the vehicle.   Thanks,   Jason [redacted] General Manager
