We work very hard to provide quality service to our customersi understand that the customer has concernsFirst of all I bet she does not realize that the owner of this company is female and was to the job site a couple of time in the four days the job was being completedMy job supervisor and
husband was also back and forth between the customers job and another job the company was involved inMy company routinely completes jobs without the "owner" being presentThe job supervisor was not constantly present because the customer had requested that we start ASAP we as a company cannot leave a job to start another jobWith this said, we tried to accommodate her and sent someone to work on her roof, and even started on a Sunday which is not a common work day for usWe feel that the employee sent was competent to provide the service to complete this job: As per the estimate the customer provided you she did not pay for sheeting and the job was inspected, by both my husband and The customer upon completion and final paymentWe collect payment in two halves this provides the customer the opportunity to hold payment if they are not satisfied with servicesFinal payment was received from the customer upon completion of the roofing jobWe did discuss her sofitt not having support because the house is older and built with a roof overhang versus a framing overhang and sofitt systemThe boards were not rotten they did however lack support from the sofitt sideThis did not affect the shingle job and that support could have been completed at a later datewe gave her an estimate to complete the sofitt which was and was not included in the first estimate, she refusedThe customer had unlicensed persons come to her residence to scrape under the roof, these individuals broke the boards from under the roof exposing the shinglesI do not feel that my company is responsible to fix something someone else broke, especially since the customer was aware of the lack of support on the overhangAs far as cost of "labor" the customer knew exactly what my company was charging for labor upon receipt and agreement of estimateit is printed in plain type on the estimate, how much the charge wasIt sounds to me that the complaint is that we were finished too quickly? The labor costs on our invoice cover many unseen costsNot only does it pay labor for the employee an the job site, it covers both liability insurance and workers comp, it covers time to bring equipment to site, time to locate equipment and time to dispose wastes at dumpIt also covers costs to write out estimates, going to order materials, and tools and equipment used by employeesI understand that the costs are high but, insurance eats a lot of our moneyThe customer agreed to the estimate that she has provided youShe also had the option to get other estimates or, ask us to replace the sheeting on the entire homeDrip edge was installed and is currently On the new shingled roofThe estimate was quoted to replace shingles and underlayment only, no rotting boards were found none were replacedas stated on the estimate extra work or sheeting would cost extra moneyI feel that this customer was unreasonable and unwilling to allow my company to resolve issues, before taking other actionsI was not aware of broken boards inside the attic until this letter was received, I was not inside the attic to inspect itI feel that everyone cannot be pleased all of the time and that if this customer compares our estimate and timely completion of work in light of the recent hail storm she will see that she was not over chargedI believe payment of my employees is between myself and the employee, not the customerPictures of the completed roof are attached, along with a picture of the missing boards the painters pushed out while scraping underneathI feel that our company provided customer with satisfactory service the roof is intact as we were contracted to complete.I do not believe our company owes the customer any return of money
