I took an insurance policy for a property my business owns. I was told I can cancel anytime and have my prorated premium returned to me.
I took the policy on 7/*/2020 and canceled on 7/*/2020 and as of today 8//2020 I still have not received my refund. The associate who I worked with does not return my calls.
came to the office, I believe on 7/*/2020 to sign the application and gave me a check to bind the policy effective 7/1/2020. Attached please find emails back and forth regarding this cancellation and some text messages. *** was informed that the refund check could take up to 6 weeks from the carrier. We also let him know that due to the pandemic, many are still working remotely. *** called daily and someone in the office spoke with him daily. *** even came to the office last week on August ***. On August , 2020, we were notified from the carrier that they were issuing a payment that week and to please allow 7 to 10 days for mailing once check is mailed. That message was passed along by a telephone call to ***. If *** has not already received the check or if he receives the check this week, that is within the 6 weeks we initially explained it might take to receive. Also, there is no time that the insured was not able to contact someone at our office and if *** were to leave a voice mail, a returned call was always made.
It may just be a coincidence but he texted me and asked me to go for drinks on July *** at 11:33am and on July *** at 9:20am I responded that I am seeing someone. I then received a request to cancel his policy effective that same day, July *** at 10:31am via email.
