Hubert Vester Toyota Of Wilson Reviews (%countItem)

I brought a car with false information and Now that I Know they don't want to take responsibility.
My wife and I were in need of a dependable car. So after doing all the research and finding the one to fit our budget and likes, Hubert Vester Toyota of Wilson was the place. We went and found a 2016 ***(Gray). My wife works at the ***. She did a *** and the dealership did as well. Once we went through all the preliminaries(approval, text drive) we negotiated and neither *** showed any problems with vehicle and so we all came to an agreement and got the car at $13,500. Car salesman *** worked with us and The sales manager(don't remember his name but I know the face). We were assured nothing was wrong with vehicle. That was March 3/3/2018. So 12/20 /2018 after looking to make a trade-in at another dealership and having a *** done on our car for value, there was a damage report that popped up from 9/26/2016, over 2yrs ago. So you know I'm frustrated to find this out and not only that but to see that it was reported a month after we brought the 2016 *** according to ***, making this look like they dubbed the *** in some way just to sell the car. So not wanting to trade the car until I get some answers, I set up an appointment with the previous salesman *** to discuss these issues. We meet on December 26, 2018 and he directs us to the now NEW sales manager. NOT the previous one who approved the sale. He tells us that "I wasn't here then, so I can't doing anything about it". So we told him we would like to be compensated for this and he tells us "well the *** is saying that its rear damage and in my 10yrs of selling cars, that can be something in process that just popped up now and not then or something as minor as someone backing into a grocery cart". Nevertheless I did have my father-in-law there to listen in and help out. The Sales manager said "I can compensate and help do something if you're trying to trade it in". So after finding another car that was $17k, we asked him to negotiate at $15k with our trade and he said "ok, I'll see what I can do". Once he went and came back, the price was $20k with our trade and he only dropped the price about $200-$300. We said no, and his reply was "I'm sorry, that's the best I can do. I want to earn your business, I can only do maybe another $120 off." My response was no again and I told him I 'm stuck with a car I owe over $12k on and the value of the car is only $9k because they gave me false *** which I believe they went in and manipulated just get the most out of the sale they could. I do understand cars lose some value of the car but I know it shouldn't be that much in only 8 months. I wouldn't have bought this car with an accident and neither would the credit union had financed it simply because of the value of the car vs the sales price. I just wanted to be compensated with another car at a better deal or them paying the remaining balance off owed on this car. This is VERY VERY bad Sales practices and makes bad business. I will no longer take my business there in the future. But I want something done and not the same old "I'm sorry I wish I could but" line.

Desired Outcome

I want another car in its place of my choice simply because of their manipulating sales practices that were known of. If not a replacement, I want a full payoff of our 2016 *** remaining balance or a full payoff of the remaining balance with a trade of my choice and terms of finance.

WE at Hubert Vester Toyota are deeply sorry that you feel we misrepresented the information found on ***. As you may know *** is a third party vendor that is accessible to everyone, not just Automotive dealerships! We could only hope and sometimes trust that the information provided by *** is accurate and upto date. We at Hubert Vester Toyota are not responsible for the information and all of the details that *** provides. That is the sole responsibility of ***. However, I am here to help! I can simply provide you with all of the contact information for ***, if you choose to talk to them directly. Or, if you want to return to our dealership the General Manager would love to sit down with you and your wife and come to a resolution that both parties would be happy with. Thanks for your time and understanding.

I, *** did return to Hubert Vester on last year in December and tried to come to a resolution that I believe was best for us being that this happened on you all watch. You acted as if you could and did want to meet our demands, but you did not. You didn't even offer to compensate us for the upside down negative equity on the current vehicle. We saw a vehicle and tried to negotiate with you all to meet our prices and you didn't try to accommodate us there either. Hubert Vester is acting as if they want to help but their actions were different. I will not return to Hubert Vester unless they send me something in writing stating that they will accommodate our demands. We have already contacted *** and of course, they said its on Hebert Vester and to talk to them. I believe If Hubert Vester really wanted to help us, they would have reached back to help us after we left in December 2018 trying to reach an agreement in this situation.

Hubert Vester Toyota Of Wilson Response • Jan 25, 2019

Hubert Vester and the Customer met on 1/25/19 to try and come to a resolution on his issues with ***! *** indicated to me that are willing to explain their processor on how they report their information. That offer is and will always be made available to the consumer should they wish to receive it.
However, we are still unable to reach an agreement with the customer. We at Hubert Vester Toyota will do our very best to make every experience an enjoyable one. Our passion is to enrich all the lives we touch by delivering an incredible Dealership experience. Thank you for your time and patience.

More Information from Consumer:
I met with Hubert Vester again on 1/26/12019 to give them another offer and this time the GM was willing to pay off the 2016 *** and put us in another vehicle of our choice. So as of right now we are satisfied and everything has been resolved.

I purchased a used vehicle. Multiple promises and stipulations of the negotiation were not met; including the delivery of a license plate in 30 days.
On 23 July 2018 I signed the purchase of a 2015 *** from Hubert Vester *** of Wilson, NC. During the price negotiations with the salesman and sales manager it was agreed that the dealership would complete the following tasks. Note, the initial offer was largely based on the delivery date and the final price was $200 higher than the initial offer with the specific understanding that the following also be provided.
-Deliver vehicle 25 July (not delivered until 26 July)
-Perform 100,000 mile inspection (not verified complete)
-Fix rear passenger door seal (not fixed on delivery)
-Provide *** Report (Finally sent 16 August after multiple successful attempts to contact multiple representatives in the office)
-Pay AR registration and license plate delivery (never arrived and temporary tags have expired)

The staff was very confident and made multiple reassurances in their ability to deliver before the sale was completed, but since then they have not reached out in a reasonable timeframe to resolve shortcomings, have been difficult to contact, and do not return phone calls. It appears they are very successful at selling vehicles, but they over-promise to their customers and understaff their employees resulting to dishonest service.

The remaining unresolved agreement is the vehicle registration. I requested to take care of the registration on my own, to include paying sales tax, but the sales manager insisted he take responsibility for it to protect the delivershop from customers that do not register the vehicle within the 30 day period. On August 13th, 10 days before temporary tags expired, I was informed they were unable to complete the registration due to not having proof of property tax or insurance. I delivered the documents the next day, but the tags did not arrive before the temporary tags expired and still have not arrived. I was also not provided an extension. I contacted the officer manager 3 times in the days leading up to the expiration to include twice on the day of expiration. Each time I spoke with him he said he would call me back, but he never did.
Now I have a vehicle I purchased a month ago that I cannot drive legally due to unmet promises from multiple members of Hubert Vester ***'s staff.
Separately, to add to the dishonest sales practices, in the days after I purchased the vehicle, they raised the vehicle list price on their website from $26,304 to $27,120 when the final purchase price was $25,558.30. This indicates that they are creating artificially high values for used vehicles to rig pricing.

I hope they reference a document I signed that listed "no further requirements" as part of the sale. The salesman presented it already complete with a line through the section for further deliverables like it wasn't a big deal. I foolishly trusted that the rapport the staff built with me was honest and when they said "I'll take care of it", they would actually take care of it. This is the one document I signed that I wasn't provided a copy of before I left, but I'm hindsight could clear them of most responsibility.

Desired Outcome

I want my vehicle registration or an extension of the temporary registration so my can legally operate my vehicle without fear of being pulled over and ticketed or arrested by police. I want to speak to the owner of Hubert Vester Toyota to understand his sales philosophy in regards to each promise that was made to confirm a sales price, but not met after the price was paid. I want to know if he has any accountability for his staff or any guarantee to his customers. I want to know whyI was presented with a document to sign listing none of the stipulations we agreed to as continued requirements from the sale, but I wasn't provided a copy of that document. Now that none of the promises have been met it appears it was done to protect the dealership from failing and being held fiscally accountable.

Customer Response • Sep 24, 2018

My temporary registration expired on 23 August 2018 and I did receive permanent vehicle registration in 13 September 2018 after being left to drive illegally for 20 days. While I can legally operate my vehicle now and have no attachments to Hubert Vester or desire to work with them again in the future, there has not been any reconciliation offered for the unrepaired door seal, non-delivered maintenance inspection records, or late vehicle delivery. I was not treated with respect by numerous managers who promised to callback with answers but never did. The general manager ignored my experience of poor customer service in favor of their long history of good customer service. Just because you pick the history that favors you doesn't mean it is an accurate reflection of reality. Especially if you ignore negative experiences from more customers. I forgive you. I hope you learn from it and treat future customers with more respect.

Falsely Misled by Sales Rep and Company
Ever Since Saturday. Feb 3rd, I have been looking for a reliable vehicle since my van isn't running. No dealership except for Hubert Vester Toyota, in Wilson, was willing to help me. I was specifically told that I qualified for a vehicle, however, I needed a cosigner for INCOME and not credit. I was told even though I have no established credit, that I could get a vehicle because it wasn't bad credit, just not established and only needed to prove $2,400 total income. The whole agreement was proving $2,400 income, using my van as a trade for the downpayment, and financing a 2013 *** EX, for $150 or less a month payment. Today, Feb. 9th, 2018, I brought a cosigner with me, and proved the minimum amount of income. I got to look at the vehicle, start her up, and everything only to come back inside and be told that I can't get the car because there wasn't enough credit even with my cosigner. This is a huge problem, not only for the sheer fact that I was lied to, wasted money and time on travel, and was rejected after already being told I was approved, but my job depends on me having a vehicle as well as transporting my 3 year old son to his appointments. I have text messages between me and the sales consultant, ***, detailing everything I needed for today and what I needed to prove and will be more than happy to submit them to you. Businesses shouldn't be allowed to lie to their customers, it's just morally wrong and bad business ethics. They even agreed with me at the dealership when I compared it to fast food. I said "If you order a burger from me and it's not given to you, as it was guaranteed to you, isn't it the responsibility of the company serving the burger to fix the problem if you were lied to?"...and the gentleman (manager)said "Yes, you are exactly right but there's nothing I can do for you"...Now, what does that say when the Manager flat out told me, "yeah, sorry, we lied"? Please help me correct this situation, thank you so much.

Desired Outcome

I want the vehicle I was promised under the terms and conditions agreed upon by the sales representative...

We are not the Lenders...but, we do operate in accordance with their lending guidelines. I apologize if we did not communicate that properly o you. The issue here is that they told me I needed to prove more income only. They said I was approved for credit but needed a cosigner fit income. When I got there, with my cosigner for income, this was not the case. They even had the car sitting there waiting for me.
