I am rejecting this response because: When I checked the Revdex.com to see what manner of business I was dealing with, I was impressed to see the A+ ratingI also noticed that Heartland Auto has been in business since In Heartland Auto had one complaint, which appears it was settled I have tried to communicate with Heartland Auto from the beginning (Oct14, 2016) regarding this issue and Heartland Auto chose not to respond, deflecting my calls, and blaming the warranty company When I bought the vehicle the manager spoke very highly about their warranty companyThey have never had any concerns with the warranty company Heartland Auto made no attempts (October 2016-January 2017) to contact me regarding the vehicle repairsNo options were ever suggested by Heartland Auto for alternate repairsHeartland Auto made no attempts to negotiate with the warranty company on my behalf It appears Heartland Auto had information that the damage was not a pre-existing issue, but they did not share this information with me until they responded to this Revdex.com complaint Heartland Auto sold me two (2) products: A vehicle and A warranty on the vehicle Heartland Auto does not want to be responsible for either product Any other dealership would stand behind their sales Heartland Auto advised that they will in good faith buy back the vehicle for $This is not an option do to the repairs have been paid Heartland Auto suggested a repair for $The totaled repair is $I purpose a good faith buy back would be to split the difference in the two repair prices with Heartland Auto paying $3500.The attachments from Heartland Auto response did not come throughThe only information I was able to retrieve was one (1) photo of the last page of the CarFax I’m enclosing the auto repair paperwork that was faxed to Heartland Auto back on December 13,

Our long track record shows that we do sell a good product and take care of customer problems, when the arise. We have not deflected any calls from Mr ***, it would be impossible to know who was calling with the number of calls we get per day. We feel that we have proven this was not a pre existing problem and we did relay all the information to the warranty company. We did not sell two products. We sold the car and the warranty did not cost him any money. We are not responsible for what the warranty company does or does not do, that is a contract between the customer and the warranty company only, we have no further controlOur good faith offer of buying the car back for the purchase price stands. Any repairs that Mr *** decided to make to the car, was his decision and at his expense

We at Heartland Auto Sales Inc always strive to offer the best possible product at the best possible price. We are a very small dealership, so we use several area repair shops and local make specific dealers to check out and service our vehicles before we sell them. We had this
Subaru Forester, vin number ***, inspected by Brunswick Auto mart, a Subaru dealerOur instructions to them were to check the entire car over for retail purchase. At that point if anything major would have come up we could have returned it to the dealer we purchased it from, that is the deal we have with some dealers after doing business with them after doing business with them for many years. They have done an inspection on this vehicle on this vehicle and had it for sale on their lot before we purchased it. The inspection by Brunswick Auto Mart did not uncover any of the problems that the customer incurred, the inspection was completed at 132,miles, only ten miles before the customer purchased it. The inspection by Brunswick Auto Mart only noted that a couple of the filters needed changed, the tires were worn unevenly and possible oil leak. We were told by the service advisor the oil was only found around the oil filler neck and could be from oil being spilled while oil was added. It was not wet or dripping any oil just had signs of oil there. We had a local shop clean and replace a gasket to make sure it was not leaking. Both inspection by the warranty company and customers repair shop showed there was no oil leak or lubrication problems found. We at Heartland Auto Sales Inc feel every possible precaution was done to insure that there were no major problems with this vehicle. We at Heartland Auto Sales Inc , Brunswick Auto Mart and Sunnyside dealers never heard any knocking or found any signs that this engine would fail. Mr *** also never heard any noise until 10-14-2016, according to his written statement and his recorded statement to NVP Warranty Co. After we were contacted by Mr *** we contacted NVP Warranty several times to try to help expedite this warranty claim and give all information on this vehicle to get this claim handled quickly. At first they said only the tensioner was bad and could not go any further until the engine was tore down to point of failure. We thought with all the proof we had given the warranty company at that point they would re-inspect the car and honor the claim. We just received the inspection report and after viewing it and showing several mechanics we found several contradictions and an incomplete inspection. The first contradiction, the inspection company they hired to inspect the car was told to look for pre-existing condition and to look for any problems caused by lack of lubrication or built up sludge. This sound to us they told the inspector to find a reason not to honor the claim. Second contradiction, the inspector report showed number one crank journal to only be lightly scored, proving the failure was not long term. Third contradiction, the number one rod bearing heavily worn and flaking apart. This is an early sign of the bearing failing because it is made of lighter and softer material that will easily self destruct. Modern engines are built to very tight tolerances and use lighter steel and metal alloys with the least amount of weight possible which means there is less material to wear. When something goes wrong or fails, even the slightest thing to go wrong will cause major problems very quickly. With only one rod bearing and journal showing damage is proof that this is the start of the failure and according to the inspection all other bearings are in good condition, proving that it had not been long since the number one bearing failure because the worn and flaking bearing material would be distributed throughout the engine in the circulating oil and would very quickly score and damage all the other bearings and bearing surfaces. The inspector also noted he found no evidence of any damage caused by lack of lubrication or built up sludge. No other failures were noted or seen by the inspectorSince the warranty inspector has given no opinion of the cause of the original failure or when it happened, they have not proven anything as to when or what the cause of failure was, they did not prove that it didn’t happen while it was under NVP contract. Select Auto has not given any options on time frame or cause of failure. No pictures were supplied with the report and the report only has the opinion of the inspector hired by obligator to find a reason not to honor the claim and without any explanation to why or what really happened. They have not proven it was a pre-existing problem. The warranty company also stated that the way the engine was being repaired may not prevent future failures because of the metal from the failed bearing had been circulated throughout the engine and may cause future problems or engine failure, since there was no reason given for the failure in the first place, they could not insure repairing the engine in this manner would prevent future problems. The warranty company also stated that repairing the engine in this manner is not the industry standard and is not cost effective and would need a more comprehensive rebuild to insure it is done correctly. NVP Warranty stated if they would have approved the claim they thought it would be best to replace the engine with a good, used, factory engine because of the reputation of Subaru engines, it would be the most time saving and cost effective way and could be done for a cost of only $I have contacted local recycling yards and talked to repair shops that we use. I had found many good mileage replacement engines available. The repairs shops all came up with the same opinion that replacing the engine with a good used engine was the best way to go, the cost of 2500.00, would be in line with what it should cost. We at Heartland Auto Sales Inc do all that we can to make sure that our customers do not have these problems by having this vehicle inspected at a new car dealer as this one was. Even with all these precautionary measures, we cannot tell what will happen in the future, to any vehicle. Heartland Auto Sales Inc sells all our vehicles “as is”, no warranty, at all, from Heartland Auto Sales. This is not only explained to the customer, but it is detailed in the documents that are signed at time of purchase, there are documents stating this fact. We provide a service contract form a third party, which we have no affiliation or control over, to help with any problems that might occur in the future. They are also told the contract does not cover everything. This is detailed in the agreement between the customer and NVP Warranty Co, which the customer signs and receives a copy of. Unfortunately, in this case we believe the warranty company has failed to fulfill their obligation and has not proven in any way, when and how this failure had occurred. In this case we have all the evidence that the vehicle did not have this pre-existing problem, we believe that the claim that MR *** has is between NVP Warranty and himself. We are sorry that this has happened and was not taken care of by NVP Warranty to the satisfaction of Mr***. To try to help this matter, Heartland Auto Sales Inc, in good faith would be willing to buy back the Subaru for the full price paid of $7050.00, the ta money will have to be applied for, by Mr***, from the state of Ohio. We are enclosing the Brunswick Auto Mart inspection report, the NVP Warranty inspection report and all associated sales paperwork

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 6, 2015/11/20) */
I was able to speak with the owner of this company this morning and he was polite and knowledgeable on the matter of the issues we were having with this vehicleI very am very appreciative of his willingness to speak honestly with me concerning
this matterI am thankful that this company took the time to look into my complaint and responded quicklyMy husband and I had the vehicle repaired this week and we are not seeking to be reimbursed for the bill of $that we received from *** to replace the fuel module and fuel filterI am now convinced that the problem we had with this vehicle had nothing to do with their honesty, integrity or sales practices. It will now pass an emissions check and so I am very happy with purchase of our Dodge CaravanI have a renewed trust with this business and would refer them to a friendI hope that their A+ rating with the Revdex.com is not negatively from my experience
