My husband contracted with Trey H[redacted] to build his house back in 2005 (before we were married.) We clearly missed the first red flag with Trey when the A/C unit quit working shortly after we moved in. Turns out the unit was mismatched against the air handler. It took a technician from the manufacturer to detect and correct that issue. The replacement A/C was supposed to be a 3-ton unit. We specifically asked for that. Turns out, it's only a 2-ton unit. It's very disappointing to see that he did not install what we asked for! We only discovered this A/C discrepancy this week. Also, we have a gas fireplace, but did not have the gas connected for several years. Since we do not have natural gas service in our area, we assumed there would be no issues once we got our propane tank set up. Unfortunately, Trey put a natural gas insert in, rather than one compatible with propane. We called him and he came over to look at it. He said he would see about swapping it out for us. We never heard from him again about this issue. He did, however, show up the next day while we were at work to pick up some wood that my husband offered him for free. We also discussed while he was at our house a room addition that we were hoping to get a bid from him for the work (this was prior to us realizing that he is not a man of his word, nor a worthy contractor!) Again, we never heard from Trey regarding the gas insert or the bid. I guess it was a blessing in disguise that he didn't call back, as we have since realized that Trey does not follow through on things and would likely cost us much more money to fix his mistakes in the future. We do not recommend going with Trey H[redacted] for any construction job! Buyer beware!
