Review: HUDSON PARK LUXURY RENTALS is extorting residents on electrical charges and what they advertise as luxury rentals falls well short of its marketed value. I have lived at HUDSON PARK for a little under 2 years and the way it works is... HUDSON PARK gets charged the utility bill from [redacted] (utility company) and then sub bills all of its residents. The problem with this is that HUDSON PARK does not provide a breakdown of the usage and/or how the bill is billing charged. They merely present you with a dollar figure on the RENT statement each month. The average apartment electrical charge for apartment rentals in NY STATE falls well below the $200 mark... HUDSON PARK is presenting its residents with $500 bills, $700 bills, $800 bills, and so on and so forth. In essence, they are charging their residents the average cost of electricity of 12 months within a 2 month period.

The part that angers me the most is that every employee that works in the leasing office has major discounts on their rent and utilities. We have a source inside the leasing office that states that her bill never exceeded $100.00. I was under the impression that electricity is a utility and should be charged on usage... but no, that is not the case at HUDSON PARK. HUDSON PARK charges the residents inexplicable amounts of money and keeps doing it, until they force the resident out and the new one comes in... and the same story continues. Just in my building we have about 10 residents that have the same complaints.

When we complain to the office, we ask to speak to the [redacted] is downright nasty and disrespectful. Her rent and utilities are absolutely free... again... by giving your employees free utilities you could make it on the backend by charging your residents to make up for the charges. Over the past year, countless residents have moved out and broken their leases due to not being able to afford the electricity.

Someone needs to put a stop to this extortion. HUDSON PARK must tell all future residents that the electricity is sub billed and that they will not be getting detailed breakdowns of their usage or how they come up with their figures. This part of the leasing is false advertisement. They do not inform the residents of this. When we asked how the electricity costs were, they simply told us, "they are based on usage, and they will never exceed $200."Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the money I spent over the past year and a half for the electricity overcharges. I would also like, a detailed bill for each entire month they charged me for electricity. I need to see how they are charging and what they are charging me for.
