Review: My boyfriend and I found the place on-line and it looked really nice. We live in New York City and decided to go away for the weekend. We then rented a car and drove two hours north to what was promoted as a resort and spa. They had my credit card on file and charged it immediately. AS we walked in to the lobby it was nothing like they showed online. It was extremely dirty, and we walked to look at the pool, with trash on the tables and truly disgusting, so we decided to cancel the reservation and drive back home. Regardless, even though it was less that 7 minutes, they charged my card. When I called the manager he said" Since we entered the building they could charge us." I simply want a refund of what was blatantly bordering criminal. Please help.Desired Settlement: The charge was $112.10. Please have them refund it.

Review: To whom it may concern,

This letter details the experience of myself, wife and two children (ages 2 and 4 months respectively) at the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa from 10/**/14 - 10/**/14.

Sanitation Issues

The hotel hallway carpets were caked with dust, dirt and food;

Sections of the stairs ([redacted] floor and below) were covered with vomit and food;

Trash and debris were littered throughout the hallways and were not cleaned during the 72 hours we were guests at the hotel;

2. General Repair Issues:

Hotel light fixtures were broken throughout the [redacted] floor;

Decorative frames were scratched and broken;

Chairs at waiting areas were torn, scratched and in disrepair;

3. Safety Issues

Elevator call buttons were not functioning during our stay;

Elevator sensors not working: My two year old son’s hand got caught in the elevator door causing bruises, swelling and psychological trauma;

There was no help, assistance, security or staff to help us either in the aftermath of my son’s injury or at any other point during our stay;

Hotel staff regularly seen smoking in front of the hotel in close proximity to the hotel entrance;

Light fixtures and lamps in room did not stand straight up and were at risk of falling over;

Large plastic bins, carts and other devices for moving laundry and luggage blocked the hallway on the [redacted] floor for the entire 72 hours we were guests at the hotel;

Due to the aforementioned issues, I believe that the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa may be in violation of a multitude of health and safety standards.
