Greetings, We did in fact attach the new softener to the fresh water intake to the branch that was off the main lineOddly enough his line was over four feet deepWe only bid the job for a standard water line depthWe located the line on the inside of the home where it came up the wallThe line outside corresponded to this as wellWe were in fact wrong, we did order the parts and returned out and corrected the situation as soon as the parts came inAs a licensed plumber we have never seen a lines this deep and if we would have know we would have bid the job for over a thousand dollars moreWe still are the ones who came back and had to dig down the main line at four feet, as the sprinkler guys only dug up what we originally dugWe dug four feet, used another two hundred in parts, and fixed all the landscapeing backOur original labor cost plus ($original cost be fore trips back), water softener ($our cost plus all the original parts) netted us only $because he made us move it around the corner from the original locationWe have another $total in parts and labor for all the other work we did to fix the situationI have lost an extreme amount of money on this job and took full responsibility on correcting the situation and redoing dirt work and landscapingHe told us that he had sprinkler guys coming by for something else and would have them look at it Sure he had to pay for the landscaper, but if we have to pay that bill he should have to pay a bill for us do a great deal of work we never estimated for

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint I have a number of issues with the response to my complaint made by Cody, the owner of Budget King PlumbingFirst, the sprinkler system operated perfectly prior to the water softener installationSecond, I called the sprinkler system company only because Cody assured me that the sprinkler system issue was not caused by the water softener installationCody, the plumbing expert, inspected the water softener installation and assured me that the sprinkler system issues were unrelated to the water softener installationSubsequently, the sprinkler system guys diagnosed the problem and determined that the problem was caused by the incorrect water softener installationPlease understand that they did have to spend hours, and replaced a number of sprinkler system parts, to insure that there was not a sprinkler system issueThey are not plumbing experts but they were able to determine the problem because they took the time and made the effort to understand the actual problem. Prior to Cody telling me to call my sprinkler system company, he could have looked closer at his water softener installation, and determined the actual problem himselfAfter all, he is the plumbing expertBecause of the incorrect water softener installation, and Cody's lack of desire to take the time to understand that the problem was of his making, I spent about $I would not have incurred this expense if Cody had done his job correctly, or had taken the time to diagnose the actual problem himselfI think Cody/Budget King Plumbing should at least share this costI think I am being very generous to be willing to pay part of the cost and I do expect Cody to pay his share, $600.00.

In the original complaint you stated that the bill was reduced to $600. I propose we split the bill and I will refund you $300.

As a licensed plumber we have never seen a lines this deep and if we would have know we would have bid the job for over a thousand dollars more. We still are the ones who came back and had to dig down the main line at four feet, as the sprinkler guys only dug up what we originally dug. We dug four feet, used another two hundred in parts, and fixed all the landscapeing back. Our original  labor cost plus ($350 original cost be fore trips back), water softener ($700 our cost plus all the original parts) netted us only $150 because he made us move it around the corner from the original location. We have another $800 total in parts and labor for all the other work we did to fix the situation. I have lost an extreme amount of money on this job and took full responsibility on correcting the situation and redoing dirt work and landscaping. He told us that he had sprinkler guys coming by for something else and would have them look at it.  Sure he had to pay for the landscaper, but if we have to pay that bill he should have to pay a bill for us do a great deal of work we never estimated for.
