First off I love the Hulen areaPlenty of businesses and very close to public transportation. My first time walking into the leasing office at Hulen Gardens, I spoke with a leasing manager, I asked her do you accept Sec8, she answered 'yes we do' and I inquired about a one bedroom apartment and I had inquired about a certain amenity that comes with the one bedroom apartments and I was told that this amenity was available in apartments that were on the second floor and upThe leasing manager took down my name and number and even gave me her business card( I suppose as a courtesy) She informed that a one bedroom with the amenity that I was looking for would be available in about a weekI informed her I was looking to move asap or at least by the end of FebruaryI let a week and a half go by, with no contact from the office about the said available apartment being ready to look at or move intoSo after no response from the office, I came into the office a second time to inquire about availability of the apartment I was told about a week and a half ago to see if it was ready to be shownI was told (by a different leasing agent)there would be an apartment available in another week afterI mentioned I was a Sechousing voucher recipient and I was referred to a sister property across the streetThis second leasing agent (because the assistant manager leasing agent I initially spoke to was off that day/Thursday) suggested that I would have to get an apartment that was $less than my voucher to be able to rent at Hulen GardensThis made me feel rather uncomfortable that she would say this to meIt made me feel that because I was a Secrecipient that they were going to just shuffle me into anything they had available and that my initial inquiry about the amenity in the apartment was no longer a concern I felt like that was not her job to telll me what I could afford, I had did some research and already knew what I could afford with my voucherNot one time during my second visit to the leasing office did she mention 'any' one bedrooms were available except the one she showed me on their sister property(which I declined)I was shown a two bedroom at Hulen Gardens which was sort of useless, since a one bedroom was what I was gettingI remind u not once was I told a one bedroom was available at this time, or even in a couple of daysAfter she showed the other apartment on the sister property we came back to Hulen Garden leasing office and she jottted some things down on a form( I assumed she used that form to help remind them of what a potential future resident is looking for in an apartment when it became availableThat day I left with an application and how much all the fees would be(deposit, admin fee,& app fee)whenever an apartment became avaialableAnother week went by I called the leasing office and I asked to speak with the manager that gave me her card on my first initial visit and this third agent ignored the fact that I told her I wished to speak with the manager instead because that is who I initially spoke with on my first visitI admit my eagerness to move into a decent apartment in a very good area left me blinded to the fact how I was being 'shuffled' so to speakThe third leasing agent let me know that an apartment had become available ready to move in asapI came to see the apaprtment and was a bit perplexed because she was showing me an apartment on the bottom floor( which meant the amenity I inquired about on two other occasions would not be available in this bottom floor apaprtment that she was showing me) disappointed that they were showing me an apartment without the stove/refrigerator and guess what???w/o the amenity I was looking forI liked the apartment but of course the apartment I was shown did not include what I had mentioned I was looking for on other occasionsBeing that I am or could be a potential future resident...why would they disregard what I was looking for in an apartment even though I had mentioned it to themI proceeded and put down my deposit and etcfees in money orders as they requestThe manager was sitting at the desk rite next to the leasing agent I was handling business with, not once did she acknowledge that she remembered me,or speak to me, (very unprofessional)but she is the one who I spoke with the first time I came into the leasing office(she took my name and number down but never contacted me)I asked her(this third agent)what happened to the type of apartment I was looking for??? She told me they had a couple of them and they went fastI felt like she just slapped me in my faceDid I not deserve a courtesy call when the type of apaprtment that I was looking for became available?? I was never told that there was a waiting list or anythingI was told another one bedroom apartment would not be available until mid March or AprilIf this is how they process potential residents to Hulen Garedens property this gives me a red flag as to how they would handle any of my request if I did become a residentI do believe in quality customer service when dealing with the publicIf they had a waiting list I was not made aware of it when I first inquired about a one bedroom with the amenity I desired to have.I know they deal with more people than just me on a daily basis, the fact still remains that I was not dealt with in a proper manner, just because I am a Secvoucher recipient, I deserve the same adequate response and courtesy as any other non Secpotential residentThis definitely shortens my time in finding a place before the end of February which I made them aware ofI understand nobody is perfect but there is no way in the world is it okay to make a potential resident feel like a second, third class candidate when it comes to desiring to rent an apartment at your complexToo much 'dropping the ball', miscommunication and disregarding what a potential Secresident is looking for

I would like to start this response by stating I was not the Manager at Hulen Gardens when Ms. [redacted] moved out. On 2/27/18, [redacted] spoke to me in regards to the debt that was reported on her credit report. She stated that it was inaccurate, I stated that I would be more than... happy to look into the situation for her. I looked up her file and viewed her move-out statement and called Ms. [redacted] back with my findings. I stated to her that According to the move-out statement that she did not fulfill her lease obligations, therefore she was charged accordingly. She stated she moved for her protection, I did not see the proper paperwork requesting to be released from her lease obligations due to violence. According to the lease contract she would have been released with the proper paperwork but I did not see any paperwork. I also stated to her that I did see where she had started making payments on the debt ( she made 7 payments) and I asked her why she would make payments on a debt that was inaccurate and that she should have disputed it instead. She stated her intentions were to pay off the debt. On 2/28/18, [redacted] contacted me again and requested to settle the debt of a 1 time payment of $1500, I agreed to the settlement and contacted the collection agency to inform them of the agreed settlement. On 3/1/18, [redacted] , our POC at the collection agency contacted Ms. [redacted] to accept the payment,Ms. [redacted] failed to make the payment as agreed. [redacted] contacted me on 3/2/18 and stated she would be making the payment with her case manager. If you need additional information please feel free to reach out to me.
