I tried to directly contact the dental office to discuss issues but never got a response I took my child to Brentwood Dental because they were in network and had privileges at [redacted] Dr [redacted] performed the dental work and did an excellent job It is the staff she has in place that I take issue [redacted] was negligent while scheduling the surgery It took seven weeks when I was told two weeks While waiting, my child suffered a febrile seizure with a temp of from the infection Now he is susceptible to experience more seizures [redacted] blamed the insurance on the delay I contacted the insurance company and she had not contacted them I had a conference call and she never admitted her negligence but then blamed [redacted] I contacted [redacted] and they had no record of her contacting them Once she had no one else to blame, she was miraculously able to schedule the surgery in days I did not want to create friction before the surgery so I kept my mouth shut hoping to discuss my issue when I had the follow up visit BUT, the follow up visit was a disaster as well They took my child to the back by himself I had no issue with that The problem was they gave my child to another person I had to argue with the Dental Assistant that he was my child She said that I wasn't his mother that she needed an oriental woman (my child is adopted) There was another customer that witnessed it She couldn't believe it as well There happened to be a Chinese lady with her child in the waiting room The Assistant grabbed her hand and took her to the back I can't imagine what that lady was thinking when they handed her a screaming child that was not hers And, I have no idea what was running through my child's mind I am sure it was a terrifying experience I was panicking at the time and did not think about it BUT, in retrospect, that was a form of racism I hate to use such a strong, powerful word; but it is In todayâ s world, many families are multi-cultural To assume he was not my child because he was a different race was not only insensitive, but it was ignorant The worst part was that not only did she assume incorrectly, but she argued with me that the child was definitely not mine I wouldn't think my child is the only adopted child they see It also was odd to not have a follow up with the dentist but with her support staff I write this review not to try to hurt the reputation of Brentwood Dental Specialist, but to educate the organization on areas that they need to better train their staff in I tried to do this via phone call and direct email After calling three times and emailing twice with no response, I am left as this being my only option Once again, I would like to reiterate that Dr [redacted] seems to be a highly skilled practitioner However, the staff of Brentwood Dental needs training in customer service and in multicultural issues

On November 7, 2016 I took my 8 year old daughter to have a spacer put in because while trying to fill a cavity Dr. [redacted] drilled right to a nerve and the had to pull her one of her 12 year molars. My daughter is always nervous for her appointments with Dr. [redacted] but this time was different and I just could not figure out why. I told her that everything would be fine and it would be over before you know it. I also told her that I would go back with her even though they NEVER allow the parents to go beck I told her I told. Well when it comes time for her to go back of course she was crying by now and I explained that I dental hygienist that I want to come in the back and she said like she has said many times its against out policies, I explained that my daughter was extremely nervous and I was coming back or I was finding another dentist. So the hygienist went and got the office manager and I again explained to her that I would be coming back with my daughter because she was so upset and nervous about this visit. After it was all said and done I was allowed to go and sit with my daughter in the room until the hygenist came in and they assured me that she would be all right even though she was still in tears and that I would have to leave because they were going to put the gas on her. So after about an hour my daughter returns to the waiting room with tears in her eyes and she is not closing her mouth the dental hygienist explain to me that it was normal and that she would have to get used to the space and that she would eventually close her mouth. To make a long story short my daughter was unable to eat or drink anything that night the next morning I took her to the ER for dehydration and she was not able to talk at all they ended up admitting as into Williamson County Children's Hospital where they had to put a tube down her throat so that she was able to eat and drink for an entire week she had to eat through this too it would not say a word to anybody they brought in a psychiatric children dr. Enterprise speaking to my daughter he found out that she had a traumatic experience and that she was having PTS Syndrome from the dentist visit. That she was so traumatized from the visit that her body is shut down and her brain is sending their signals to her and she is does not know how to cope with it. My daughter has been in counseling since the beginning of November and is now having to take an anti-anxiety medication because of her visit to the dentist office. And it has come out and her counseling visits that during all of her dentist visits a dental hygienist would hold her arms down and another would hold her head and they were opened her mouth so wide that it would hurt her dolls and she was too afraid to say anything to me or anyone because the dental hygenist told her that she will get in trouble and that she was the cause of all this. I've been going to Brentwood Pediatric Dental Specialists since my daughter was a toddler but we would always see a different dentist never again will not return to this office and I am in the process a pressing legal charges for excessive force on my child I do not recommend anyone to go to this office and I am extremely hurt that they would treat any one's child the way they treated mine.

I tried to directly contact the dental office to discuss issues but never got a response. I took my child to Brentwood Dental because they were in network and had privileges at [redacted] Dr. [redacted] performed the dental work and did an excellent job. It is the staff she has in place that I take issue. [redacted] was negligent while scheduling the surgery. It took seven weeks when I was told two weeks. While waiting, my child suffered a febrile seizure with a temp of 107.2 from the infection. Now he is susceptible to experience more seizures. [redacted] blamed the insurance on the delay. I contacted the insurance company and she had not contacted them. I had a conference call and she never admitted her negligence but then blamed [redacted] I contacted [redacted] and they had no record of her contacting them. Once she had no one else to blame, she was miraculously able to schedule the surgery in 6 days. I did not want to create friction before the surgery so I kept my mouth shut hoping to discuss my issue when I had the follow up visit. BUT, the follow up visit was a disaster as well. They took my child to the back by himself. I had no issue with that. The problem was they gave my child to another person. I had to argue with the Dental Assistant that he was my child. She said that I wasn't his mother that she needed an oriental woman (my child is adopted). There was another customer that witnessed it. She couldn't believe it as well. There happened to be a Chinese lady with her child in the waiting room. The Assistant grabbed her hand and took her to the back. I can't imagine what that lady was thinking when they handed her a screaming child that was not hers. And, I have no idea what was running through my child's mind. I am sure it was a terrifying experience. I was panicking at the time and did not think about it. BUT, in retrospect, that was a form of racism. I hate to use such a strong, powerful word; but it is. In today’s world, many families are multi-cultural. To assume he was not my child because he was a different race was not only insensitive, but it was ignorant. The worst part was that not only did she assume incorrectly, but she argued with me that the child was definitely not mine. I wouldn't think my child is the only adopted child they see. It also was odd to not have a follow up with the dentist but with her support staff. I write this review not to try to hurt the reputation of Brentwood Dental Specialist, but to educate the organization on areas that they need to better train their staff in. I tried to do this via phone call and direct email. After calling three times and emailing twice with no response, I am left as this being my only option. Once again, I would like to reiterate that Dr. [redacted] seems to be a highly skilled practitioner. However, the staff of Brentwood Dental needs training in customer service and in multicultural issues.
