Hull's HVAC Company Reviews (6)

Good Morning [redacted],
I do not how much more information I can provide we did everything we could to accommodate [redacted] we even installed a condensate pump for no charge to fix a problem we at Hull's never caused. [redacted] conveniently put this claim in with the Revdex.com the day after we did that free install and has had no problems since we have not heard from him.

Thank You!

After reviewing the statement from home owner as far as the burnham  boiler the home warranty company issued said this was a pre existing problem. After the pictures that they have seen. This was not a decision made my Hull's HVAC,  nor an employee from Hull's HVAC as far as the...

leak from the gasket it was explained to home owner that it was the bolts that hold the gasket in that we were worried about because of the rust and oxidation around them. For that reason is why we did not recommend trying to un bolt this gasket as also was explained to home owner the only reason the price was given was because the home owner had asked for it. The explaining of the hanger being bent over and over was to explain to the home owner the bolts that hold the gasket in place as an example of the heater heating up then cooling down. We tried to loosen a bolt and did not feel at that time that the bolt should be loosened or tighten anymore because it would of cracked or brake as explained to homeowner as well as home warranty company. the following pictures can show as documentation of rust and oxidation that was at the boiler at the time,  and to show why we did not want to put any amount of torque onto these bolts.

Upon arriving to [redacted]'s property, the so called secondary problem he is referencing had already existed as explained to me by the property owner. After inspection of the coil we at Hull's HVAC found his evap coil was 100% impacted due to a complete lack of maintenance. at that time a new evap...

coil was recommended. After several days the property owner called us back to complete the installation had begun the property owner was instructed to have the combo washer/dryer removed so we would have room to work in the utility room. After the female tenant had moved the washer and dryer (because the owner did not show to appointment) the coil was installed and the PVC lines were retro fitted to the existing condensate lines. Two weeks later, the property owner informed us that the system was not cooling Hull's HVAC responded with in 24 hours with the repair at that time we found that the water heater was leaking because of improper installation.  After the property owner had the hot water heater was repaired (by another company), we were called out again because of a leak of water. Once again we responded with in 24 hours. And found that the PVC that we retro-fitted was tampered with and was flowing in an upward position. We informed the property owner of this and recommended that we install a pump and the cost is normally $495.00 for the complete system but we would do this completely complimentary. This was performed on September 9,2014 the day before he made this complaint. As for us 3 months of waiting, the first call out, to the property it was on July 3, 2014 the install was not scheduled until July 29, 2014. This customer is trying to have everyone else pay for his utter lack of maintenance which caused the bathroom and any other type of damage. The pump that was installed complimentary was an option that was offered at the time of installation but declined because he wanted to keep his costs down.

Review: Hulls HVAC has scammed me out of $2200 for an unnecessary and incorrectly done repair, created secondary damage of my apartment through improper work and damaged a washer/dryer unit due to their negligence. Hulls was called out to my property to inspect a leak situation coming from the area where my HVAC unit it placed. Upon inspection, we were told that that the coils were rotting and it was specifically because of this that we were having a leak. They presented a solution to replace the coils in the HVAC and assured us the leak would end. We agreed to the work, costing a total of $2,200 for both the parts and the labor. Upon replacement of the coils, our air conditioning unit immediately stopped working while the leak continued. After multiple back and forth calls and complaints, Hulls came back to inspect the work and told us they improperly sealed the connection to the freon and that it leaked out. Once they did this, it immediately caused a secondarily, intense leak in a bathroom directly below where the work was done. This caused the ceiling to partially collapse and drywall to crack. Again, the main leak we initially called about continued. We also discovered at this visit, they had damaged and dented our washer/dryer machine which is in the same area/utility room. Hulls continued to say this was a plumbing issue and nothing to do with them. We called a plumber out through American Home Shield at our own expense (service fee) and he determined that in fact all this was due to the fact that Hulls needed to only put a pump into the condensation line - a solution that would have only cost a few hundred dollars. After several weeks and calls they agreed to come back again and tried to charge us another $500 for this repair. Once they finally put in the pump - about 3 months after our first call to them - did our leak finally stop. Hulls not only scammed us out of $2200 for unnecessary repair work, but also caused extensive additional damage that we now need to fix through other contractors to repair the ceiling and drywall.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a refund for the $2,200 paid for the unnecessarily replacement of the coils in the HVAC until. Additionally we would like consideration for damages caused to our personal property (washer/dryer) and the ceiling/walls in our bathroom and hallway.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

While installing a furnace, crew drilled 4 screw holes on the drain pan of evaporator.
It leaked so I patched holes with metal tape for the temporary measure.
Hull's very defensive about this when I called them and completely denied that they made the holes!
Their crews who came to my house to do the work were cordial but they looked like they had no clue what they were doing.

Review: We purchased our home in May of 2014. Shortly thereafter, we noticed our air conditioning unit was not working properly. We contacted our Home Warranty company ([redacted]) who sent out Hull's HVAC to assess and repair the problem. Hull's showed signs of poor customer service from the beginning as they failed to even show up for the initial appointment scheduled. They were also late for the rescheduled date of service on 6/18/14. They noted freezing of the pipe coming out of the back of the furnace and said it was due to the evaporator coils being impacted and all that was needed was a cleaning. They then cleaned the coils, charged the system with freon and guaranteed that we would not experience the problem any longer. Almost 2 months to the date, we began experiencing the very same problem. We called [redacted] once again and they suggested sending out a different company. The HVAC company who came out found the real problem immediately and stated that the initial company who came out to service did not service the unit correctly. We then called Hull's and they refused to give us a refund or acknowledge that they had incorrectly diagnosed the problem.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund in the amount of $225.00 (from our previous bill) since their diagnosis was incorrect and resulted in a second visit from another company who CORRECTLY diagnosed the problem immediately.

Response:

When we first went out to the [redacted] Residence their system was low of R-22 and the system's coils were impacted and needed to be acid washed and cleaned for the system to run at full capacity. The [redacted] did call 2 months later stating that we misdiagnosed the problems and their was a leak in the coils and demanded a refund. We tried to explain to them that it ran properly for 2 months in the dead of the summer (where the average temp was high 80's) and if there was a leak the R-22 that was added would have leaked out with in days not months. They were not happy with our answers and began posting negative remarks on our social media and Revdex.com.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: the system did not work properly for 2 months after Hull's HVAC serviced it, despite Hull's opinion. The system began to show signs of not being able to cool the house properly that same week. We had to go through a lengthy communication process with our home warranty company ([redacted]) to send out another technician. After we spoke with Hull's and they refused to provide us with a date of service, we spoke with our home warranty company again, who then sent out another HVAC company to diagnose the problem. That company verified that Hull's HVAC did NOT properly diagnose and remedy the problem, since the leak was very large and simply cleaning the coils was not the problem. The leak has existed for several months now, but Hull's HVAC failed to even look to see if a leak was present. They simply charged an outrageous price to clean coils, pumped the system with Freon and presented us with a bill. Our system was not working due to maintenance/coil cleaning, it was not working properly because a large leak was present. Hull's failed to find the problem and continues to refuse any time of resolution to the problem.
