Humane Vet Hospital of San Diego Reviews (2)

Words to describe this business.

DECEPTIVE practice concerning initial advertised charges and final charges.

Physicians are independent contractors with absolutely NO PERSONAL INVESTMENT in the patients or their familys.

Secondary staff are hurried, overworked, unpleasant, and apathetic. When meeting them I got the feeling they were all looking for a better job.

Review: Dissatisfied with hospital’s handling of my pet’s export Rabies Titer (FAVN) test procedure. My concerns are mainly due to the misinformation and false blame by the hospital being placed almost exclusively on ANTECH (contracted lab or 'lab') to mask the apparently negligent actions of the hospital - and failure of the hospital to perform due diligence and check on the status of the test results in a timely manner (test takes no longer than 6 weeks, they waited almost 2 months). I believe the hospital is solely responsible for the test not being performed by the lab. The test results that the hospital claimed were the results from the “wrong test” lab conducted are instead test results that were requested in connection with a GHP (General Health Panel) exam an examining veterinarian from the hospital ordered on May 24, 2014 – and then used in a follow-up examination when my pet was brought back to the hospital on May 29 2014. Also, lab stated that hospital filled out paperwork incorrectly. These error's (and others) by the hospital have already delayed my pet's exportation process by over two months - and my concern after discovering the problem was of what was being done to accommodate or alleviate the fact that I will now be forced to care and shelter my pet in the U.S. for an additional two months while restarting the quarantine/exportation process. This entire ordeal is worsened by the failure of the hospital to inform me of the willingness of the lab to assume some blame in this matter by reimbursing me the cost of the test and doing the Rabies Titer test at no additional cost. Again, in the entire amount of time I spent trusting what the hospital repeatedly claimed, no one representing the hospital bothered to inform me of what lab said they were willing to do to in order to address the inconvenience this has caused me. I have medical records, phone records, and email correspondence I believe fully supports the legitimacy of my complaint.Desired Settlement: 1) End hospital refusal to accept my business - This can be accomplished by properly administering the required collection of the blood serum sample necessary for lab to submit to the proper testing facilities to conduct the Rabies Titer (FAVN) test needed for me to export my pet to Japan.

2) Adhere to the suggestions of the lab representative that were expressed to the Director of the hospital in their phone conversation on July 22, 2014 (as stated by said representative): Reimbursement of the test costs ($350.00) to the owner for the inconvenience, and conduct the Rabies Titer (FAVN) test at no additional cost.

3) (If hospital/employees performed due diligence) provide evidence of lab conducting the wrong blood tests (Or at least evidence that anyone at hospital confirmed with lab before July 17 2014 that all requests/forms for the Rabies Titer (FAVN) test were completed and sent to lab properly).
