Review: On June 4th, we ordered six pounds of 3-year extra sharp cheddar to be delivered to our home in Minnesota. The order included $47.94 for the cheese and $26.95 for shipping. We placed the order online and then called to verify shipping practices since it was warm outside. I was assured the cheese would be shipped expedited and with ice packs. We received our cheese order on June 10th.

When we received the package, it was 80 degrees outside and all of the contents of the box (ice packs and cheese) were at least 80 degrees and felt even warmer than that from being in the back of the truck. The ice pack in no way was remotely cool and all of the cheese was warm. Two of the cheese blocks were quite wet with a yellowish oily liquid leaking through the paper and the smell was pretty bad. In addition, all six of the blocks were under a pound in weight and that was even including the paper and wax in the weight. In total, we were about a pound short and two of the blocks were wet/smelled. I'm not sure as to the safety of the other four blocks or how long they were left warm, but it can't be good to leave cheese that warm for any period of time. Since we paid almost $27 for shipping this was quite disappointing and we were forced to discard all of the cheese.

I filed a complaint and request for refund or reshipment of the order from the "Contact Us" portion of their website. I did not hear back at any point. I then emailed the company directly and was still never contacted. I left a voicemail and was never called back.

I do have pictures of the cheese weights (from a very accurate scale) as well as the wet/oily cheese wrappers if needed.Desired Settlement: Refund of purchase and shipping costs and in the future, ensure safe shipping practices.

The refund was made in response to this Revdex.com complaint and not before. Perhaps in the future the company should ensure overnight shipping during summer months. $27 seems like a high enough shipping charge to cover overnight shipping.
