The following is a response to complaint ID:*** that we received by mail on 6/20/I, Pamela S*** of Humehill Labrador Retrievers sold a ten and a half week old black male Labrador puppy with a tattoo in his left ear of *** to *** *** and *** *** ***This puppy was deemed
healthy by my veterinarian on 10/17/On May 25th I received a phone message from *** that "***" was taken to a veterinarianI returned her phone call and was told by *** that Night train was at the vets because he had gotten into something and had eaten somethingHe had vomited, had bad diarrhea and his outcome looked graveI asked *** for permission to talk to her veterinarian, which she did agree toThe veterinarian that I spoke to, Dr*** confirmed that *** was brought to them because the owners suspected that he had eaten somethingThis veterinarian said to me, "I have never witnessed a case this severe, without immediate death except when there has been a lengthy illness history from a congenital problemThis vet also said that *** had been to the veterinarian previously and had always had been healthyThis vet also made mention of how sweet he is and the only other thing that was baffling to her was that he is cross-eyedHe was not cross-eyed when he left Humehill and this was the first time I was madeaware of thisDr*** said it would help to rule out a congenital problem if they performed an ultra sound and followed up with an autopsyDuring our conversation Dr*** also said that she could not completely rule out contagion, toxin or an injuryI did talk to one of my veterinarians about ***My veterinarian asked if he had been injured or if they done a toxin screening, tested for Lyme or if he had recently been exposed to leptospirosis or another virus or if he had eaten grapes, raisins, or a small amount of a usually deadly toxinI spoke again with *** and she was sad, but pleasantI told her that I needed ***s vet records, so that I could get a second opinion and feel confident about the reason *** was ill, which she did agree withI haven't received anything except a hand written letter from a veterinarian, a letter from *** and voicemails from *** making threats to "get a lawyer", "expose me on social media", etc*** left me a voice message and I did returned her callI last spoke with *** on June 11th after receiving the certified letter from her and *** which is attachedI again explained that I needed more information (vet records, test info} before I would make a decision as to how I would handle thisEspecially because according to her and her veterinarian this hadn't been chronic, but in fact was a rapid onset and also because they thought he had gotten into somethingI also told *** that I wanted to resolve this on good terms and that I was not thrilled with Joe's threats and nasty voice mails*** apologized and said "I just want another Humehill puppy"I explained to her also that they hadn't adhered to the contract and that until this incident ***, according to her and the veterinarian had been healthy and an awesome dog and if this was possibly an injury, an accidental poisoning, viral, a contagion or a tick vector, that although I feel bad I can't justify a refundI have not been given any paperwork that would confirm vet visits, bills, and dates of vet visits, medications or tests that were done for *** from *** or ***I was blind-sided by an initial phone call from *** near the end of MayOn Nov, 8th I sold a ten and a half week old black male Labrador puppy with a tattoo in his left ear of* to *** *** and *** *** ***This puppy was deemed healthy by my veterinarian on 10/17/and per our purchase contract was required to be checked within hours of purchase by a veterinarian of the purchaser choice to be deemed healthy or unhealthyAs of 6-2-*** was not registered through AKC which is also a contractual violation our mutually signed Purchase ContractThe bottom line is that Night train was a healthy dog that suddenly became gravely ill, he was taken to a veterinarian for ingesting something, the terms of our purchase contract were not followed, information that I asked for, to make an informed decision has still not been shared, to my knowledge hasn't been further testing or another veterinarians opinion and the opinion of this veterinarian does not confirm a congenital problemTo me it doesn't make sense that, if the owners' feel that this is truly a congenital problem then why on earth would they want another puppy from HumehillThe date of purchase is incorrect on this complaintI feel that I am being bullied and my year good reputation is being threatenedI have spoken with my veterinarian and I have done some online research with the limited information that has been shared with meI have attached a few articles for reference to show why I didn't make a hasty decision, why I asked for more information and why I haven't refunded the purchase price to *** *** and *** *** ***Thank you, Pamela AS***-Humehill Labrador Retrievers
