Hunter's Attic

Review: On March 27, 2013, we gave furnishings to Hunter's Attic for consignment. I followed up with them by phone and in person several times. I was told that some of the furniture was sold and we would be paid. Sometime thereafter, both the business and cell phones were disconnected and the business closed. They owe us money for the sold furniture and the return of those items not sold.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for furniture sold and return of remaining items.

Review: [redacted] sold antiques which I delivered for consignment to his business, Hunter's Attic in Vista, CA, prior to moving out of state July 2012. I attempted to contact him by multiple phone calls in April and May of 2013, which he did not return. While on a trip to CA, I went to collect my funds from the sales of these items on the dates of May 24, 25 (twice), 26, 2013. He repeatedly showed me a check for $570.00, which lacked the account signer's signature, and promised that he ([redacted]) would sign it a) tomorrow, b) in 20 minutes, c)"I forgot to ask him". I was accompanied by two friends who witnessed this. On May 26, when I went to attempt collection he became irate, refused to discuss anything rationally, and ordered me out of the business. On May 27, I asked a Deputy Sherriff to accompany me to again attempt to collect my funds. When we approached the door at 11:30 a.m., there was a hand written sign, "BACK AT 12:00". The door was locked, but furniture was displayed for sale out on the sidewalk in front. The door remained locked. The Deputy was kind enough to come back, but at 12:30 the door remained locked even though there were other customers waiting out front, and the sign was still on the door. He obviously is not forthcoming with my funds. The amount of $570.00 represents only a partial payment for items sold, but I would accept this amount as payment in full to resolve this matter.Desired Settlement: Would like to recieve the funds owed me via a cashier's check sent by registered mail in a timely manner.
