I bought a vehicle for my son that I thought was reasonably priced, ($2000) and also solid running. Boy what a mistake! First off, the window washers didn't work, the top brake light was out and the fuse was missing for the horn!! I seriously doubt they do a safety inspection at all. When I went to see the car, the battery was dead. They told me "Don't worry, we'll put a good battery in it!" Well, after I got the car home, a week later, guess what...Dead battery! 1st $100... The A/C that they said blew cold, well it did the day I picked it up. Week later, adding freon. Leak in the compressor...$900 for repairs. Then, my son complained that the steering was getting tight. Took to a shop and after power steering pressure hose, rack and pinion, c/v axle, front brakes...$700. Keeping up with the $$$? Thought we finally got it fixed. Then, my son was on his way to work, the car dies. The shop said it was probably the alternator, the bearings were getting noisy. $200 later. OK, it's good, right? Nope. The car started to leak oil. Oil pan gasket. Shop said that whoever "FIXED" the timing chain on it, never removed the oil pan to get any debris out. $500 in repairs. Long story short, had the car about 6 months, and it barely made it over the Buckman bridge to Phillips highway where it died in the middle of the road in front of the dealership that I traded it in to! If you want a reliable car, go to a reputable dealer. These little by here/pay here lots do not sell reliable cars, they just want your money. Lesson learned.
