I went to this clinic on 4-1-and it was the worst dental office experience I have ever had in the years I have been going to the dentist I got nothing but total unconcern for the excruciating tooth ache I had I go into the dental chair and the dr *** * *** came in and in a quick second or two she says yep its going to have to come out and I said I was in a lot of pain can you do it today and her answer was we don't have time for that today and then I figured well maybe tomorrow but when I get uo to the person who schedules appointments who by the way was the most unfriendly person I have ever seen she reminded me of a gestapo agent proceeded to tell me that I cant get the tooth pulled for three weeks and she had no concern at all for the fact that I was in dire pain this clinic is by far the worst of the worst I went directly over to another dentist and he gave me pain medication and antibiotics and made an appointment for the next day which he then did an extraction I have never been treated with such disrespect and lack of concern in my entire life they should not even be allowed to practice in the Roanoke virgina area this is the total truth of what happened to me and I hope no one else has to endure such god awful service

Dear/Sir/Madam,I received your reply after 1 month stating that I visited you under emergency exam,I do not understand what you mean by emergency exam as I sent several messages to [redacted] to find out dental provider, as well as it would be under 0.00 copay as I will be visiting doctor under DEN 767 insurance . I got your appointment may be after 1 month after I called you. I did not visit you in emergency so you need  to put right codeYou have specified what you mean by Comprehensive  exam, when patents have specific area that need to  looked at and not an evaluation of every tooth. Please refer to my grievance, I visited you just to tighten or loose my 2+2 teeth denture under comprehensive exam and  not check my all teeth. My dentist [redacted] did not even ask me to open my mouth, I am not asking you to change the code but requesting  you to correct your mistake by putting a right code. After coming to USA I learnt 3 words which in day to day life I am using everyday ,SORRY,THANKS,and APPRECIATED. You don't feel sorry for your mistake,as you know you did not put right code, when I cancelled my next appointment your staff did not bother to ask me why?I copy and paste, for your ready reference  mistake like you [redacted] (Provider)  has done by not putting right code and replied I  received from them to apologize,   rectify and to made a correction. ( [redacted] did not do any fraud by changing code as you say)Hope you will also rectify your mistake and will put a right code (D150) like [redacted] has done.  Thanks[redacted]

I’ve attached what I feel was the most important information from all correspondence we have had either via the patient or the insurance company. As you can see, my insurance coordinator has been working with the insurance company for further payment. We have also opened up a Trouble Ticket...

with [redacted] and are speaking with [redacted] at the insurance company. They are still wanting more time to process our request.  I would advise the patient to continuously follow up with her insurance company, too to get this matter resolved.
Additionally, the patient understood and agreed when she initially presented to our clinic on 8-27-12 that ultimately, financial responsibility for any treatment rendered is hers. Our office offers to file any dental insurance as a courtesy for all patients; however, payment from insurance is never guaranteed and any residual balance remaining on any patient account(s) is  ultimately the patient’s responsibility to maintain. Please find attached a signed consent form copied directly from the patient’s chart understanding and agreeing directly to these terms.
Thank you,

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Please confirm receipt.  Thank you.
Hunting Hills Dentistry is a dishonest company and I completely disagree with their A+ rating.  I would like to see it downgraded considerably.
Examples of Hunting Hills being dishonest with regard to my service:
1. On my first visit, August 27, 2012, Hunting Hills Dentistry informed me that my insurance did not cover fluoride (when I knew in fact that it did cover fluoride.  We paid extra money to get the additional coverage).  They stood their ground, told me I was wrong.  I had to pay for my fluoride treatment, with my MasterCard on August 27, 2012.  My insurance company reimbursed Hunting Hills Dentistry on September 12, 2012 (See Attached Exhibit A).  Despite numerous telephone calls, letters and faxes, requesting a refund, they finally complied and refunded my $31.00 on February 24, 2014 (17 months later).  I did not receive a letter of apology or acknowledgement.  Now they have the nerve to call it a “Write Off” (See Attached Exhibit B).  – Lying and Dishonest (Is it illegal to call something a “write off” on a business document, when the truth is, they were paid twice for the same service.
2. They were also misleading when they presented me with a “proposed treatment plan” on July 30, 2013 and asked me to sign that I would be responsible for the total amount of $3,135.00.  You can see where my estimate amount due at that time reflected $1,401.90 (See Attached Exhibit C) which they conveniently marked out.  – Misleading and Unethical (I am 53 years old and I have never had a dentist office tell me that I would have to pay for the service up front and in full, as if I did not have dental insurance.  Not to mention that I am an honest person who always pays my bills).
3. On the day of the procedure, I was informed that I would have to pay the entire estimated balance (which had significantly increased in 2 days from $1,401.90 to $2,087.00) prior to service (which was one of two appointments).  They presented me with the attached receipt (See Attached Exhibit D).- Misleading and Unethical (How many dentists make you pay the entire estimated balance, prior to service, especially when the service is broken up into two appointments).
4. The receipt never matched up with the secure email I received from my insurance carrier stating exactly what I was responsible for (See Attached Exhibit E). - Dishonest
5. My husband was charged $522.00 (for full payment of one crown on May 15, 2013) (See Attached Exhibit F).  My charge for two crowns was $2,087.00.  – Dishonest, Unethical and Excessive Charging.  My husband was charged correctly according to our insurance records.
Hunting Hills Dentistry provided dishonest and unethical business practices.  I was lied to on more than one occasion.  If I had additional time, I could elaborate.  My account is full of inconsistencies.  They never acknowledged that they were at fault or apologized for their numerous mistakes.  They blatantly lied to me.
What company holds a person’s money hostage and claims they are still working on it after a year.  According to my insurance company, my account had been paid in full, the charges they denied were excessive, and that I was not responsible for them.
An “A+” company does not treat their customers in this manner.  We chose Hunting Hills Dentistry because of their A+ rating.  I do not want to see honest people misled.  Please help…  I am certain that I am not the only customer who has been deceived, cheated and lied to.  I would propose a full investigation and audit of their billing procedures, and watch out for those “write offs.”

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My chief complaint is that Hunting Hills Dentistry is not a trustworthy business.
On my first visit, August 27, 2012, Hunting Hills Dentistry informed me that my insurance did not cover fluoride (when I knew in fact that it did cover fluoride because we paid extra money to get the additional coverage).  I had to pay for my fluoride treatment, with my MasterCard on August 27, 2012.  My insurance company reimbursed Hunting Hills Dentistry on September 12, 2012.  Despite numerous telephone calls, letters and faxes, requesting a refund, they finally complied and refunded my $31.00 on February 24, 2014 (17 months later).  They did not apologize.  They did not even acknowledge their mistake.  If I had not consistently requested this refund, I would not have received it.
Hunting Hills Dentistry now claims that they were not in network with [redacted].  When we looked for a dentist, the first thing we asked Hunting Hills Dentistry was if they were in network with our insurance.  They assured us that they were.  We would not sign our family up for an “out of network” dentist.  In today’s economy, we would not choose to pay the extra expenses associated with an out of network provider.
As you can see from the attached Account History Report (please see attached report), there is no mention that they were not in network with my insurance company.  There is mention that they needed additional time and “when we got the additional money from the insurance we would refund it to her.”  . . . “Like I told her earlier we are waiting for [redacted] to pay more.”  . . . “When and if we receive more money from [redacted] she will get her refund.” . . . “The trouble we are having with [redacted], she is opening a trouble ticket and asked me to fax her the EOB’s with a description of what happened.” . . .   If Hunting Hills Dentistry was not in network with my insurance, they did not state that on the account history report and there is no evidence that I was informed that I was out of network.  It is evident from the account history report that they also believed my insurance was in network and they were working to get more money.  There is no business trust.  This is the first time they have even suggested this.
Lastly, I take major offense to the business’s comment, “Despite the patient’s hostility towards several of our office staff members, our office attempted several times to explain to the patient why she was not due a refund.”  I have never been hostile to anyone.  I suspect this business has video surveillance in their offices.  Show me the video.  They will not find one video of me acting hostile toward any staff member at any time.  I am a respectful, honest person, making an honest living, who is calling Hunting Hills Dentistry out for their substandard business behavior.  I owe this to other customers who are looking for a trustworthy dentist.  I have been lied to many times from this business.  Calling me hostile, “takes the cake.”  It is still shocking and sad.  This is further evidence that this business is dishonest.

I understand that your insurance will only pay for a specific code of D0150, but when you came in for you visit on 6-29-15 you present to our clinic for and emergency exam which is code D0140. Code D0150 is a code that is used when patients come into our office for a comprehensive exam. Code D0140 is used when patients have a specific area that needs looked at and not an evaluation of every tooth.  Changing that code to something different from what we have done is insurance fraud and therefore we can not change the code since we only did a limited exam on you.

Had a root canal just a little over 5 years ago now the entire tooth came out...wires and all. Have had problems with the cap coming off several times. Dr L[redacted] told me if this doesn't work he didn't know what to do. Not under warranty after 5 years. The dentist I saw...not Dr L[redacted] said they had never seen that happen. Hunting Hills Denistry is wonderful when you or your insurance is paying for work, but when the warranty is out for a $2500 root canal don't ask for help. Not my my first root canal. Had one over 10 years ago. Less than $1000 and still have it.

This
letter is in response to the complaint received by our office on 07 August
2014, which was filed by former patient [redacted]). The
patient’s chief complaint appears to be that she feels that she has been
overcharged or charged multiple times for services. When Mrs. [redacted] first
presented to our office on 12 August 2012, she signed and dated a patient
authorization consent form agreeing that her dental insurance carrier may pay
less than the actual total for services proposed. The patient presented [redacted]
insurance as her only insurance carrier; however, at the time that the patient was
seen by our office, the [redacted] insurance that she presented to us was an
insurance policy that our office was actually out of network with, as Hunting
Hills Family Dentistry did not choose to opt into the Federal Employees [redacted]
contract when our office agreed to be in network with [redacted] under the [redacted]
Network. The Federal Employees [redacted] is not a part of the [redacted] network;
therefore, any in-network write-offs that the patient may have independently
calculated are incorrect. The patient was given treatment plans with estimated
figures for treatment included. If one references a copy of the treatment plan
that the patient was given, there is a disclaimer attached along the bottom of
the form that reads “Insurance coverage is only an estimation. Guarantor is
responsible for all treatment not covered by insurance.” The patient was asked
for payment prior to services being rendered due to our not being in network
with her insurance, a practice that this office reserves the right to when a
patient has an insurance provider that the office does not hold an in-network
contract with. The patient’s husband’s account was discounted with
miscalculated write-offs in error; however, because this was our office’s
error, the discounts were not reversed, so that the patient’s husband would not
be punished for our oversight.

                Despite
the patient’s hostility towards several of our office staff members, our office
attempted several times to explain to the patient why she was not due a refund.
Our office provided the patient with numerous account reports to prove that she
was not “overcharge” or charged multiple times for procedures, as well as the
Explanation of Benefits to prove insurance payment/denial for the treatment she
received in our office. The patient was treated respectfully and received
superior dental treatment (all of which she consented to) during her tenure
here as a patient. All insurance Explanation of Benefits as well as a signed
copy of the patient’s signed authorization consent form and the patient’s
account report can be attached to this letter for further review by the
Revdex.com. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any
further questions regarding this patient’s account.

Hunting Hills Family Dentistry is simply the best! Absolutely everyone from the moment I walked thru the front door displayed genuine kindness and appreciation that of all the many choices one has today for dentistry, I chose them. While I've no doubt this is the case with all of the dental professionals and staff, Dr. Levine and Cindy are just amazing in their attention to detail, their expertise, and just as importantly their compassionate and optimistic personalities. Absolutely wonderful!

Review: Dear Sir/Madam

I visited Hunting Hill dentistry on June 29th 2015 ( Dr [redacted]) under [redacted] plan D767 (100%free exam 100% Biting exray) , I had no other alternative as plan has only 5 doctors practicing at Hunting Hill dentistry.

Before visiting dentist I sent several message to [redacted] that I want to see dentist, only to tight my loose denture.( adjust the clip ). Nurse or attendance took me inside and took my ex-ray, just to fix my denture I do not know why I have been asked for ex ray?

Dr [redacted] even did not asked me to open my mouth, she was on computer to check my xray and asked me to come next time to have more Ex ray ??. I was asked to come with $97.00 for next visit.

I did not know till date they put a right code or not? I have been asked to pay $164.00 though my first consultation was free. I did not even open my mouth with Dr [redacted].

I made grievance with [redacted] and Hunting hill . As it was under grievance I was told by [redacted] not to pay till its resolve. As per [redacted] I mailed a letter to Hunting Hill not to bill me till my issue is resolved.

I went to INDIA on 10/29/2015 and came back on 04/11/2016. When I checked found with interest I have to pay $224.00. Though I was not knowing the out come of my grievance even though I offer a payment of $164.00 to keep my credit report good ( I never paid late in past ) but was denied.

Till date I do not know the status of my grievance for charging me $164.00 for not giving me treatment to my concern about my loose denture .( which has been fixed in INDIA with no cost.

I would appreciate Huntil Hill Dentystry would take out derogatory mark as my issue is not being resolve.

I am enclosing copy of messages and reply I have received from [redacted] for your ready reference

ThanksDesired Settlement: Hunting Hill Dentistry need to put right code as I visited first time and under plan its 100% , though I was not seen by Dr [redacted] ( I did not open my mouth as I was not asked to by a dentist?) My credit score went down from 808 to 778, need to reverse it.

Review: We chose Hunting Hills Dentistry when we moved to the area because they participated in our dental plan and because the Revdex.com gave them an A+ rating. They overcharged me for the cost of two crowns on August 1, 2013. First, they attempted to collect $3,135.00, they they lowered the amount to $2,087 when I questioned it. I was informed that I would have to pay the $2,087.00 in full, up front, prior to the procedure and the amount would be settled once the insurance carrier processed my claim and sent an Explanation of Benefits. I received my Explanation of Benefits on December 16, 2013 and it read "DM Charges in excess of the Participating [redacted] Provider's schedule. Patient is only responsible for applicable co-payments." I was due a refund of $1,028.00 andI sent numerous letters and faxes to Hunting Hills Dentistry. I received a partial refund on January 31, 2014 in the amount of 608.44 and later a partial refund for $31.00. Hunting Hills Dentistry still owes me $388.56 for the cost of my two crowns. Hunting Hills Dentistry claims my case is still open and they are waiting to collect money from my insurance carrier. My insurance carrier has called me at work and stated that my claim is closed, they have paid in full and that I am not responsible for the excessive charges.

My husband had a crown on May 15, 2013 and he was charged correctly according to Explanation of Benefits. Hunting Hills denies that but I have the Explanation of Benefits and billing for my husband.

It appears that Hunting Hills Dentistry is not satisfied with the plan they accepted with my dental insurance company. Once I questioned the overpayment, they immediately treated me as though I was trying to receive free dental treatment. They do not appear to understand billing procedures or working with insurance companies. I feel my money is being held hostage while they attempt to collect money, that they agree that they owe me, from my insurance company. They are totally unprofessional and lack integrity and provided me false information regarding my claim. Please help me.Desired Settlement: According to my Explanation of Benefits, and evidence, Hunting Hills Dentistry owes me $388.56.

Our office offers to file any dental insurance as a courtesy for all patients; however, payment from insurance is never guaranteed and any residual balance remaining on any patient account(s) is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to maintain.

Response:

This

letter is in response to the complaint received by our office on 07 August

Network. The Federal Employees [redacted] is not a part of the [redacted] network;

therefore, any in-network write-offs that the patient may have independently

calculated are incorrect.
