Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10466274, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Regards, [redacted] I would like to settle this complaint, and move forward, yet not by the suggestions given If I were to forward half of the emails that I have with this company, it would explain the reasoning as to why I am 3-months away from it being a complete year, and I was forced to file this complaint The contract listed a separate quote for one neighbor, and not the other for a reason The quote was intended for my neighbor to decide upon a potential repair/replacement of their fence This was pointed out on several occasions When I arrived home, and saw that the entire fence was hauled off, I began to panic My neighbor was upset, yet settled down over time Following this, I could not extend the cost to them I thought that the monies paid, was my cost, otherwise it would have not been separated This shows now I have been tolerating things from the start I will work with [redacted] , under a few circumstances I will not remain at home, and manage her job site I will meet with [redacted] , so that we can point out the issues, and she can get with [redacted] and assure that they are fixed properlyMany times [redacted] stated that she thought that the job was completed, because [redacted] stated that it was [redacted] asked for weeks to make a new door, that's just how screwed up the existing one is, yet after weeks, I sent [redacted] a email, stating that I would file a complaint, and it was then that she was aware that the job was STILL not completed [redacted] came by again, removed a board, that was holding the door, and placed some wood glue on some areas, that is now separatingThe locks are missing screws, some stripped The door hangs to the ground, and I was going to settle, just to rid the problem, but no longerThree of the locks, must be properly installed, or changedThe locks face outwardsThe fence was replaced for security reasons, and also regulations for the pool The wood, surrounding the pool equipment is too thin to hold the equipment, therefore, I will take responsibility to have another company to place the proper thickness of wood to the area [redacted] , if this is agreeable, than I will work with you, and hopefully you can supervise ***, or another skilled employeeThanksPlease see below Sent from my iPadBegin forwarded message:From: [redacted] < [redacted] Date: June 26, at 1:13:AM CDTTo: " [redacted] Subject: [redacted] ***- Installation of a new fenceHello neighbors,If time, and weather permits, I would like to meet with you to discuss my plans of removing, and replacing my existing fence As you may have noticed the critters and the active seasons, over the years, have been somewhat brutal, to not only the appearance of the fence, but the security of it as well The staff that cuts the grass along the canal has finally bumped it enough to assist in tearing it down My plans are to place a 6ftCedar wood fence, with a running board along the bottom I have decided to keep and repair the pool, so for proper pool regulations and safety, I have decided to place self closing hardware The work is scheduled to be completed within days of start, with weather permitting Hurricane fencing will be the company installing and removing the fenceThe only area that is not scheduled to be removed, is the area separating and Park Timbers ( Calvin & Synthia Tate ), fencing in which is not of my property I have been given a potential quote from Hurricane Fencing, if there were an interest to also change that section of the fence I will have to also do a follow up for tree trimming to the backyard area Unfortunately I was involved in a accident recently, and I won't be able to use my tree trimming skillsI will keep you informed with this issue If any color is added, most likely I will replace it with the same or similar color I am also in the process of informing the cable, electrical, and water companies of the potential to dig I have FINALLY gotten approval from this definition of an home associationI double checked, and was informed that I did not need a permit for a fence in Orleans Parish So, if there are any concerns for me, please feel free to contact me as needed Thanks in advance, [redacted] [redacted]

We got our first in-ground swimming pool this summerWe called Hurricane at the suggestion of the pool installation guyRick came out quickly, offered a quote and gave us a military discount! Fencing is expensive, but the price we received was very fairRick was familiar with Powhatan County regulations regarding fencing around swimming pools and our pool passed inspectionWe had one problem with the gate not closing automatically after a short period of time, but Chris came out and fixed the problem

Rick B [redacted] was very responsive to my request for an estimate for completion of my fence (begun by our builder as part of our landscaping) When I accepted, we were put on their schedule and the team arrived on time, completed the work and were very professional Hurricane doesn't seal their wooden fences so I had to find someone else to do thatAfter pressure washing and sealing, my gate didn't function as smoothly and the latch had to be forced (caused by changes in wood from wash/seal process) I emailed Rick and he sent two employees out to adjust it Problem solved The fence looks great and works well for us Thanks!

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10466274, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards, [redacted]

We recently had a hurricane fence installed and I am shocked…I am shocked at how unprofessional the installation team was and how little attention was paid to the details First when I got home, there was a family belonging to one of the workers hanging out in my yard and sitting on our porch Two kids probably 8-years and their motherI don’t have a problem with the kids, I just didn’t expect to see them hang out with their dad while he was working and laying on our furniture Plus we had pool construction going on with another crew and their equipment Dangerous situation for young children to be running around inNext the fence itself is only OK There are several items left undone that should have been completed with some resemblance of common sense:
First we had mahogany decorative caps installed on the tops of all the posts There was no consistency how they were attached and no quality control over the installation Several were crooked (about 6); some were installed with one screw, the others with screws and some were so loose that they could easily be moved with the lightest of touches Chris did come out and attempt to fix, however there are still several that are crooked and the one that I showed him that was lose is still loseTrash – the installation team and their family members left several handfuls of nails and screws in the yard Empty water and drink bottles all over the yard Pieces of wood, whole pickets and pieces were left lying around…there is still some there todayThere was a nail that was sticking out of the gate where folks would put their hands to push it open The one nail stuck my grandson in the hand because it was sticking out so far I must ask, where is the quality control? There were pickets that were never nailed on the bottom and are just hanging on by one nail Unacceptable!
When digging the holes all of the dirt was placed in an inconspicuous area with the exception of holes…those holes the installers chose to put the dirt on the mulch in a planting bed and covered up plants When they removed the dirt from the mulch bed, our two plants were gone We can only assume that they were grabbed up with the dirt and disposed of We questioned several of the decisions made to the Hurricane management representative (Chris) and I believe he left scratching his head about some of what we showed himOur fence was supposed to be pool compliant…a specific height, with the gates opening outward and all of the gates self-closing When the hurricane fence company called to say the installation was complete, they still had not installed the springs to make the gates self-closing It has been more than days since completion and the fence still has some minor work to be completedThere were extremely warped pickets I will end up replacing myselfI was told by the hurricane management that I would be contacted when the fence would be finished to my satisfaction….still not completeyears ago we had a fence installed by Good Neighbor Fence Cofrom Mechanicsville, VA Those guys could surely teach Hurricane Fence a lesson in professionalism, outstanding workmanship and customer serviceWhen you pay 4-Thousand dollars for a fence, you expect all of the little things to be done without me (the customer) having to point out what was wrong Again, there is no quality control over the finished product except by the home owner checking the fence details and notifying the Hurricane management about what needed fixingAll I expected, was a professional job in return for what I paid for….nothing more nothing less And we got lessWe are very disappointed!

First if you don't read all this, just give them a call and hire them. You will not be disappointed. Their workmanship is of the top quality and the staff is professional, knowledgeable, and very efficient at what they do. I already did all the work to find the best company for the job so just contact them today and get your fence.
I purchased a Home in downtown Richmond, VA in January of 2016 with a 6ft wooden privacy fence. Then on March 24th we had the high winds and tornados come through the area and most of my fence became collapsed or the nails began to pull out. Due to all the wetness and snow we had before the high winds, it was a perfect storm for my fence to fail.
After looking on the internet, and contacting serval other fence repair handymen, I really wanted to talk to Hurricane Fence because they had the highest positive reviews on Google. Also lets face it, I figured they have all the best equipment and knowlage because fencing is what they do.
I reached out on email to Rick B[redacted] and after a short exchange, we set up a time for him to come give me an estimate.
Rick arrived right on time, on the agreed day which was important to me since I was taking time off work to talk to him. We walked the property and admittedly the pervious owner had not taken very good care of the fence and he determined I was in need of a new one.
Most importantly Rick was "real" with me and gave me his expert opinion on how I should proceed. This was really what I needed. As a first time home owner I had no real contacts to inquire about how to handle this situation correctly. One of the main reasons we bought the property was due to the privacy the fence gave my wife and I for being downtown. Plus my wife really loved it for our backyard privacy and our dog.
Rick gave me the best advice and did not want me sinking money into a fence to be "band-aid'ed" or patched up only to need a full replacement later. So with that solid advice I knew they were the ones for the job!
Rick dispatched Chris and his crew to my property and they took care of my broken fence, and replace a whole section of it, so it is now pristine, level, and most of all looks fantastic.
Chris and his crew showed up right on the agreed to time and after a short conversation about what they were about to do, got right to work. They finished in a short time latter and my wife and I were stunned at how well organized his team was, how efficiently they fabricated a new wooden fence on site, and how unbelievably nice the property looked when they were done. They finished it right on she dual as discussed so our backyard was ready for Easter weekend with our family coming to visit. It was perfect.
I'll be contacting them again if I have any other fencing needs, and will be suggesting the same to all my friends and family.
If you have made it this far reading you know I'm seriously happy with their service that I took the time to leave this detailed review. Like I said in the beginning, just contact and hire them today. You will love their work!
Thanks Hurricane Fence Company!
- Chris

Hurricane Fence installed my vinyl privacy fence and I am very pleased with the results! They did an amazing job! The service was impeccable from beginning to end. My salesman Rick was very responsive and extremely helpful and patient throughout the entire process and the installers were great. My yard was very difficult to work with considering it was previously swamp land but the installers went over and beyond the call of duty to meet our needs. Thank you Hurricane Fence for a job well done! I highly recommend them.

Rick B[redacted] was very responsive to my request for an estimate for completion of my fence (begun by our builder as part of our landscaping). When I accepted, we were put on their schedule and the team arrived on time, completed the work and were very professional. Hurricane doesn't seal their wooden fences so I had to find someone else to do that. After pressure washing and sealing, my gate didn't function as smoothly and the latch had to be forced (caused by changes in wood from wash/seal process). I emailed Rick and he sent two employees out to adjust it. Problem solved. The fence looks great and works well for us. Thanks!

Hurricane Fence just installed a back yard fence for us. They did an excellent job, and fence looks great.

Hurricane Fence, Inc. installed a residential wood fence at my home over the summer and I encountered numerous issues related to poor organization, poor communication, and complete inconsideration of my time and effort on their behalf. The following is based on my experience:
The contract with Hurricane Fence, Inc. required that I have my property lines marked to ensure proper boundaries. I paid a professional surveyor to establish and mark the property lines at my home.
The contract with Hurricane Fence, Inc. indicated that they were not responsible for damage to utility lines and irrigation system pipes and heads that were unmarked. I had my irrigation service provider came to my home and pull all irrigation heads in the path of the fence installation out of the way, flag all heads, mark all water lines and even alter water lines that would have conflicted with the planned fence placement. Photos were made of these exposed water lines and provided to Hurricane Fence, Inc. prior to fence installation. In addition these altered water lines were uncovered and openly visible at the time of Hurricane Fence, Inc.’s initial installation date.
The contract with Hurricane Fence, Inc. required that the homeowner must be present for discussion prior to the work being performed. I used two days of paid time off from work, used one Saturday, part of second Saturday, waited a Sunday morning during which they ultimately did not show up, and used a Monday morning of my time to be available for their work crew.
The contract with Hurricane Fence, Inc. requires that Homeowners Association Standards be provided to them for review. I provided the sales person a hard copy of the Homeowner’s Association Standards at the time of initial measurement and discussion as well as emailed him a copy prior to fence installation. In addition, at the time of initial discussion, the sales person and I walked to a neighbor’s home to review a standard fence installation in my community.
On Monday June 6, 2016, Hurricane Fence, Inc. was scheduled to install my fence. Chris Poels arrived with the work crew and advised me they only had sufficient materials to install one half of the fencing. He asked me how the fence was to be installed and I advised him to walk to a neighbor’s property to see how the community standard was installed. He said he would do so. The work crew installed the upper section of fence. Upon review of the work, I realized Hurricane Fence, Inc. had installed the wrong style of fence posts (non-approved by my HOA) and ruined with cement one of my marked and openly visible irrigation heads that had been pulled up and out of their way.
During the course of June 8-June 10, I worked with the HOA to get approval for the incorrect fence post style rather than have Hurricane Fence, Inc. remove and replace the installed fencing. On June 10, 2016, I advised Hurricane Fence, Inc. that the incorrect fence style had been approved by my HOA.
The installation of the remainder of the fencing was set for June 29, 2016. Two days prior, on June 27, 2016, I phoned Hurricane Fence, Inc. to speak with Chris Poels to ensure that the fence posts they were bringing to my home were not the style indicated in the contract, but instead the style that they had incorrectly installed on June 6, 2016. I made numerous calls and sent emails trying to get confirmation that they understood this. I was unable to speak with anyone about the issue nor did I receive a confirmation email. Ultimately, the receptionist said she had spoken with someone about the issue and everything was understood.
On June 29, 2016, I used a second vacation day from work to be available for the work crew. I received a phone call early that morning from Chris Poels advising me that the crew would be arriving in the afternoon. The crew arrived without Chris Poels that afternoon. I looked at the fence posts in the back of their truck and advised them they were incorrect style. This was confirmed by the work crew and they left. No work was completed that day.
I advised Hurricane Fence, Inc. that all other work would have to be performed on a week-end because I was not willing to waste any further vacation time. They agreed.
The third date for fence installation was set for Saturday, August 9, 2016. The crew arrived and installed the remaining sections of fencing. In the course of installation, two irrigation lines were severed. These were the two sections of irrigation which were previously altered by my irrigation service provider specifically for the benefit of Hurricane Fence, Inc., the same two sections of which photos were provided to Hurricane Fence, Inc. for review, and of which the work crew and I had a candid discussion about the existence of these lines right before one was broken. Because the cement at the site of one of the water line breaks did not set properly, my gate post sagged and was unstable causing the gate to have to be physically lifting up to open it.
I phoned the Vice President of Hurricane Fence on Sunday, August 10, 2016 to advise him of the damage. He immediately said to me that his company was not responsible for damage to irrigation lines. “It’s in the contract,” he said. Yes, for lines that were unmarked, that is true. These irrigation lines were more than marked, I told him. “Well, I guess we shouldn’t have done business with you,” he said. I like to think what he may have meant is that they should not have done business with someone who actually did mark the property line; who actually did have the irrigation heads and lines flagged, moved and visible; who actually did provide them with the HOA specifications; and who actually was present and available for their work crew.
On August 6, 2016, the same work crew returned. They made some alterations that my HOA wanted and for which I covered the cost, they removed my gate and reset the gate post in cement. I was advised they would return the following day, Sunday, August 7, 2016 to reattach the gate to the gate post. So I altered another day’s plans, and I waited for them on Sunday. No one showed up. On Monday, August 8, 2016, two months after what should have been a well-coordinated, one day fence installation, my gate was reattached and it was over.
Ultimately, Hurricane Fence, Inc. reduced the amount I paid for repairs to my irrigation system from their final bill and I believe my fence at this time is fine. It was just the getting there that wasn’t.

We recently had a hurricane fence installed and I am shocked…I am shocked at how unprofessional the installation team was and how little attention was paid to the details. First when I got home, there was a family belonging to one of the workers hanging out in my yard and sitting on our porch. Two kids probably 8-10 years and their mother. Several were crooked (about 6); some were installed with one screw, the others with 3 screws and some were so loose that they could easily be moved with the lightest of touches. Chris did come out and attempt to fix, however there are still several that are crooked and the one that I showed him that was lose is still lose.
2. Trash – the installation team and their family members left several handfuls of nails and screws in the yard. Empty water and drink bottles all over the yard. Pieces of wood, whole pickets and pieces were left lying around…there is still some there today.
3. There was a nail that was sticking out of the gate where folks would put their hands to push it open. The one nail stuck my grandson in the hand because it was sticking out so far. I must ask, where is the quality control? There were 2 pickets that were never nailed on the bottom and are just hanging on by one nail. Unacceptable!

When they removed the dirt from the mulch bed, our two plants were gone. We can only assume that they were grabbed up with the dirt and disposed of. We questioned several of the decisions made to the Hurricane management representative (Chris) and I believe he left scratching his head about some of what we showed him.
5. Our fence was supposed to be pool compliant…a specific height, with the gates opening outward and all of the gates self-closing. When the hurricane fence company called to say the installation was complete, they still had not installed the springs to make the gates self-closing. It has been more than 10 days since completion and the fence still has some minor work to be completed.
6. There were 2 extremely warped pickets. I will end up replacing myself.
7. I was told by the hurricane management that I would be contacted when the fence would be finished to my satisfaction….still not complete.
5 years ago we had a fence installed by Good Neighbor Fence Co. from Mechanicsville, VA. Those guys could surely teach Hurricane Fence a lesson in professionalism, outstanding workmanship and customer service.
When you pay 4-5 Thousand dollars for a fence, you expect all of the little things to be done without me (the customer) having to point out what was wrong. Again, there is no quality control over the finished product except by the home owner checking the fence details and notifying the Hurricane management about what needed fixing.
All I expected, was a professional job in return for what I paid for….nothing more nothing less. And we got less.
We are very disappointed!
