This business performed inferior exterior workmanship creating a leak which caused ceiling to collapse inside home. I tried numerous times to resolve this problem with empty promises. Additionally by his admission he hired incompetent help. He was not prompt, overcharged for quality of work performed and did not complete work as agreed upon. The inferior work, and lack of response, required hiring another business to redo the repair. In essence the repair was done, and paid for, twice! In addition faulty workmanship required interior wall, ceiling and insulation, and painting repairs at additional expense. This person sells himself and his services as competent to do a job that apparently is beyond his "inferior helpers" ability and knowledge. He does not inspect work, does not remain onsite to supervise and makes decisions related to work without discussing and not as agreed. He only offers excuses. His workmanship has caused unnecessary additional work, delays, inconvenience and expenses.
Refund Several attempts were made to remedy this with Mr. resulting in empty promises he would resolve problem. This job was undertaken in July. The leak HAD to be resolved, I contracted another company to redo the botched repair. I am requesting Mr. Hurst refund *** of the *** paid to him (I have yet to receive a paid in full statement for full amount). I do have copies of the checks showing he was paid *** Half will not begin to compensate for the resulting damages/cost incurred.
I'm owner of hurst and son this issue is and was not part of our contract my contract said I would remove porch that was connected to house which was hanging down when I got there contractor said would remove all word from the porch/deck replace the facia and replace the shingles at the end of the roof where the porch/deck was tied into I replaced a 4' x 5' section of wood that was rotted I told the customer that she needed a whole new roof that her Ruth was in bad shape I told her that it was a temporary fix because it was emergency to get the porch/deck from hanging on electrical wires and stuff down I went beyond my contract helped her fix her a lawnmower because it wasn't working in little things like that just to help her out Never said anything about my brother not be in competent of doing any work I was out there when the work was being done besides maybe two hours to go do a couple estimates I didn't hear from her until months later after we had a bad storm where her saying that it leaked and that her sale and fell in the well where it fell Lynn is nowhere near where I did any work once again I told her she needed a new roof but she said she would not put money into that house because her daughter was not taking care of it so she was doing less possible Thank you for letting me speak my side sorry it took so long to get back but I had a injury have a good a good day

This response is inaccurate. David *** did not not remain onsite to oversee work and he did say workers were incompetent. He offered to look at lawnmower, said it needed a new carburetor which was not the case at all. As for the roof he never said the roof needed replacing and in fact does not according to the company hired to redo the repair. The photos I submitted were from the company hired to redo the work which showed the work done was inferior. A large gap was left where work was ddone which caused the leak and ceiling to ccollapse. Photos confirm. In addition the rreplacement roof tiles were improperly done wwith nail heads exposed. There has been no ffurther leaks since the company hired to iinvestigate the workmanship and redo the rrepair was completed. Any mention of my daughter not taking care of the home had nothing whatsoever to do with this repair. David *** is incompetent and does not complete work in a timely manner. His inferior repair created additional repairs at a cost of *** Unsatisfacrory work and always claimed "sick" as issue. Mine is not the first or only complaint regarding his work. Those are documented on Nextdoor website with one saying they filed a small claim. The company who redid the botched repair has photo proof which was submitted.
