We tried to resolve this with this resident numerous times by offering to pay for the tire that was damaged by a roofing nail. It our standard practice to pay to repair or replace any tire damaged by a roofing nail on our projects. Our offer was not accepted as he wanted us to replace all Four tires...

on his vehicle. We ended up meeting him and paying to replace Two tires on his car. We believe this has satisfies him.

Review: We've been trying to get this company to replace our roof for over a month. We leave messages with the main company and with ***, *** ***) to call us and communicate with us about where we are in the process. The main office just leaves messages for *** to call us, and he rarely does. The roofing materials were delivered to our house on Sept. 5th, to be installed on Sept. 6th. The crew never showed up. After we called the office, and ***, repeatedly with no success, my husband had to physically go to their location and ask someone to help him as *** was in Wisconsin. We met with *** on Sept. 10th, and he was supposed to call the insector and/or our insurance company with some additional inquiries. we have not heard from him on the outcome of those conversations despite our attempts to contact him. The materials have now been sitting in our driveway for 12 days, thus preventing us from using half our driveway. We would like them to come pick up the materials as we are fed up and want to go with another roofer. I called the office again today and left a message for a manager, *** (sp?), to call me to arrange for the materials to be picked up. No one answered and I had to leave yet another message.

I would like someone else to take over our matter and resolve the remaining questions with our insurance company/insector and get the roof replacement done within the next 2 weeks. In the alternative, I'd like them to come remove the materials from our driveway, or they can give their consent in writing to allow another roofing company to use them to we can get this work done by the end of September.

I just spoke to Mr. ***. He does not dispute the sequence of events

or the timing. The issue is the lag time between contacts with the

insurance company and the customer. The primary reason the roof was not

installed on the targeted date of Sept. 6 is that the customer wanted

the entire skylight in the roof replaced, not just re-flashed as is

often all that an insurance adjuster will allow. If it is done without

the insurance companies approval, they usually will not provide adequate

funds to make the replacement, sticking the roofing company with the

cost. Getting approval for items not on the original scope of loss can

take 7 to 10 days depending on the availability of the people involved

in the process.

In addition, there were other items that the homeowner

wanted replaced which were not sited in the original scope of loss, so

those also needed to be approved before the project could move forward as well.

To

resolve this issue as the customer has stated they would like to have

it resolved, we have placed a call to have the materials removed from

their driveway. They will be removed by the end of the business day on

Friday, Sept. 20, hopefully sooner. In addition, we release the

homeowners from any obligation to have Hustad Company perform any storm

restoration work for them. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope

that they can get the work completed to their satisfaction as soon as

possible.

We sincerely hope that this will resolve this issue to the satisfaction of the Tiemans.
